Poach some chicken and just give a bit of that today?

Gave a different brand cat food so not sure if was that but sick only the once per day but on 3 consecuative days.

Quite happy his normal self eating etc.

It could be the change of food, or it might be that he's trying to expel a hairball - sometimes they have a few false starts before they get them out.

If you're changing food it's best to do it gradually, mixing a little more of the new food with the old food each day.

Try giving the chicken today and see if he keeps it down. Watch out for any other symptoms, e.g. runny eyes, that could indicate a virus. If he's still being sick tomorrow, I would take him to the vet.

some cats have a sensitive tummy and yes if you change food you do it slowly by adding small amounts of new food to old gradually replacing it .They dont like sudden change of diet

personally i changed my cats food a dozen times i still cant find one he wont barf =/

Feed very small portions.
No more than half a pouch at a time if you give him any.

CornishTeaTime · 20/10/2024 10:42

Given poached chicken, he's eaten abit but think thats more to do with "hey this is bland where's my usual"!

He wont starve and am sure he will go back to it later.

Crossing paws he won't be sick again.

steam a piece of Basa fillet, it’s a really gentle fish and easy to digest, chicken can be a bit harder to digest.

Was about to start a post on the same thing. Penelope has been sick every night this week. But is absolutely fine in her self, eating and drinking well. I changed her food flavour to salmon from chicken. And she loves it. It’s the same variety of food. It couldn’t just be the flavour change?

Toddlerteaplease · 21/10/2025 10:16

It’s been while she’s been on holiday at my parents. They have a rather expensive pale wool carpet. 🤣🤣🤣

Allergictoironing · 21/10/2025 10:37

It will have to have SOME changes in the recipe, if nothing else to change the flavour. Can you see what happens if she changes back to the chicken for a few days?

Toddlerteaplease · 21/10/2025 15:49

@Allergictoironing I changed her back yesterday as soon as we got home. She had one very small vomit overnight. Nothing like the three huge ones the night before. Though my carpet isn’t as expensive or new as my parents. 🤣🤣If she was at all unwell I’d have taken her to my parents vet. But she’s her usual self.

Toddlerteaplease · 21/10/2025 20:32

@Allergictoironingshes not a happy bunny this evening so we are at the vet.

I hope both kitties are OK. I am so glad that when I moved to France I bought a house with tiled floors…
