Had dcat for 6 yrs, always had insurance but only made 1 claim so had paid out far more in premiums but this weekend he became ill. Temperature, sleeping alot and abdomen seemed to be tender so ended up at emergency vets-£275 call out fee to start them blood tests, urine tests x-ray + ultrasound.

Also antibiotics, painkillers and follow up appointment.

They didn't find anything specific but thankfully after a course if antibiotics he seems fine, just had the invoice and it came to £1379, thankfully due to insurance we only had to pay £85.

My cats have run up bills of £26k. I'm very thankful for insurance!

I paid 600€ for my cat’s dental cleaning last year and was very glad that she is insured.

Penelope's teeth cost me £900. They weren't covered. And because I fostered before I adopted her, her ears aren't either.

Same here, one has reached an age where he needs various regular drugs which cost a fortune, another had eye operations and problems at around £2k each time. Those two alone have made it worth having the insurance. Of course their premiums have gone up by a lot this time round but it's still cheaper than paying out for everything myself. All ours have the top end insurance with no exclusions and lifetime cover. I just try not to add up the cost each month 😁

Plus there's the peace of mind knowing that decisions on being PTS won't need to be based on costs which is worth every penny.

I didn't think pet insurance covered dental work?

I am in Germany and it is covered here.
