I know this has been done to death, but Toots has suddenly decided after YEARS of enjoying gourmet perle, that it isn’t good enough for her.

She’s been leaning half a bowl left every day. She only gets one wet bowl a day. She has dry food down all day

Sheba wet, and Purina One dry. It's the only combination all three of them will eat, so that's what they get Grin

DancingFerret · 30/09/2024 17:59

Ours have both wet and dry food.

Untamed - online only and not cheap, but they lick their bowls clean every time, unlike the other wet food they've had.

Dried food is Purizon (the fish one is their favourite) - again, online only.

VenusClapTrap · 30/09/2024 18:31

Applaws, today.

Fontainebleau007 · 30/09/2024 18:33

Applaws wet food
Science plan 12+ dry food

Soubriquet · 30/09/2024 18:39

I have applaws in my Amazon basket.. guess we will give it a go

Spoilt little shit. Here is this suspect

Our Siberian is on Katkin. We have tried untamed and cool cat club but gone back to Katkin and the reduction in shedding, furballs, smelly poop and even food stealing is massive!
It has to be stored in the fridge/freezer and is quite expensive but worth it to not have fur tumbleweeds all over the place!

Alltheyearround · 30/09/2024 18:48

James Wellbeloved, as needs grain free for IBS type issues.

Alltheyearround · 30/09/2024 18:49

Get complimented on her coat, very glossy.

teatoast8 · 30/09/2024 18:51

Go cat

Imperrysmum · 30/09/2024 18:51

All 3 on James Well beloved Turkey dry biscuits. Have been for years. Got an automatic dispenser and it just dolls out biscuits a few times a day and they have an all day buffet. Lovely job!

Thank you! She’s been having gourmet for years which has worked well. She has either perfect fit, meowing heads or scrumbles for dry food. She’s 8 now Grin

Guess I’ve got to up my standards for the middle aged lady

I’m tempted by katkin too. According to the quiz, it’s gonna cost me about £30 a month for her food which isn’t too bad I suppose. I’ll give her a go on applaws which is easier for me to get for now, and then try katkin if I see no improvement

After a lifetime on felix wet food (in jelly - fishy type only) Dcat decided some months ago she hated it and would never eat it again! As she is a spoilt little madam I tried just about every cat food invented and she eventually agreed to eat Applaws wet sachets - but only the tuna one. Which I now buy on subscription from Amazon. It's not cheap though 😐

Happily she hasn't yet gone off her dry cheap-as-chips go cat - yet!

She is hugely spoilt but I inherited her from my late mum so I feel obliged to spoilt her - it's what mum would have wanted 🙂

SpinningTops · 30/09/2024 18:59

I've tried cool cat club and Katkin.

Katkin gives you more food, but it's messy and I've just cancelled because the new trays are always split leaking food. Also freezer space is an issue.

I switched to cool cat club and top up with dried.

You can get lots of different types - shredded meat, Pate etc. The trial box is good to try it all out.

Here's a referral but I don't know if it gets you anything 🤷🏼‍♀️

My two are on katkin, after being on perle gourmet.
They don't eat any dried good or treats now.
Almost always have clean bowls.

Thanks. I’ve ordered their trial box to see how she gets on. Says for every friend you refer you get £10 so hopefully you get that

If she's fussy, I wouldn't bother with the katkin. Mine wouldn't touch it, even the youngest one who is a greedy little bugger 🤣

Mine are on Amazon Lifelong grain free and Felix as good as it looks (because it's the only wet food the fussy one will eat!)

Loveatortie · 30/09/2024 19:43

My 2 have, Felix as good as it looks in gravy, Felix tasty shreds, Whiskas in jelly, Webbox naturals, fussy madame will only eat encore in broth ( Tuna fillet with whitebait only) when she is being a diva. They also have a roasted chicken breast each once a week and poached (in milk) white fish once a week. There is also the of bowl of cat milk and their favourite treats once a day 😻 boy cat will eat supermarket own brand sometimes. They like variety 😹

RobinEllacotStrike · 30/09/2024 20:25

My 2 car very happy on katkin.

We have some untamed tins as well for special occasions 😂

That’s the thing. She never used to be fussy. She was happy as long as it was in gravy

Meowing Heads and Gourmet Revelations.

BobbyBiscuits · 30/09/2024 20:48

My bigger one, tabby, eats whiskas and go cat. The little one who's more petite but has really sensitive skin, he eats Royal Canin sensitivity control wet and dry food. It's obviously nicer than whiskas as the big boy always wants to pinch his brothers dinner! But it's really expensive so can't feed them both with it as only one is allergic.
Hills and Royal Canin do lots of speciality ones, but if there's no medical reason I guess just keep trying lots of brands that are easy to find in the shops.

WildCherryBlossom · 30/09/2024 20:49

We went through a long phase of cats changing their minds about wet food brands and tried most things.

Our vet disapproves of Sheba food for some reason I can't remember,so I stopped getting that. Applaws is excellent quality but so expensive - and sometimes they would turn their noses up at it, which was gutting at that price! We have settled on Purina "selective palate" (aka "fussy blighters") which they always enjoy. Bowls licked clean. Been getting it for a few months now and no complaints yet.

outforawalkbiatch · 30/09/2024 20:50

My 7kg boy is picky
He wants to eat dry junk food, I want him to eat raw or decent wet food

We compromised Grin
He gets 1 Sheba pouch which he eats while glaring at me because I'm forcing him to eat wet food, then James well beloved dry plus any scraps of raw chicken, turkey mince etc

CleftChin · 30/09/2024 20:51

Aldi meat and poultry one with the siamese on the front (the more expensive one - not that it's actually expensive compared to felix/sheba/other ones).

They've been through a few through the years, slowly becoming more and more fussy.

They share a sachet of that in the morning (which is plenty - any more and there's a risk of them bolting it and throwing up). 100% meat dry food is out all the time, and girlcat will often ask for one of those runny treat sachets (Aldi or Lidl and even fish flavours of those are acceptable) at some point in the day.
