My cat always licks my fingers and then bites at my acrylics 🤣 he’s done it since the very first day I brought him home as a kitten! Does he think I’m unable to groom myself?

Humans are such pitiable, helpless creatures. Even when their masters bring them half-killed birds to practise on, they seem incapable of hunting for themselves. It's no surprise really that they let their claws get into such a state.

He also despairs that you can't just lick yourself to stay clean. What is rain machine thing?

Or he might have a bit of a thing for acrylic. The late Bubbles used to love licking plastic bags.
