Cat has a broken tail and I have no money!

Hey guys.

My little girls' name is Willow and she's 4.
Today, after petting her and her growling at me(which she never does!) , I found out her tail is broken 😭

Unfortunately, I really don't have the funds as I'm at uni and work part-time.
I know is irresponsible to have a cat and not have money to pay for injuries like this if/when they happen but she's honestly just help me get through life so I've looked past this.

Now, with her injuries, I've been quoted £700 for the Xray alone. Treatment will be additional to this.

Does anyone know of any pet insurers who cover these sorts of things? There is "preexisting issues" insurance but they're super vague with their terms so I don't know.

If anyone has any suggestions, please PLEASE get in touch. I honestly don't know what to do so if anyone can put me in the right direction, it will be MASSIVELY appreciated!

I read this thread earlier and can’t stop thinking about this poor wee cat - OP can you update on how you are getting on, please?

I do hope the poor cat has pain relief and is being treated.

This is exactly why people like the OP shouldn't be allowed to have cats.
Make owners have a license, chip and insurance mandatory.

I don't really like cats they poo in my garden but the thought that there is a cat owner out there that is thinking of money and waiting whilst the cat is in pain makes my blood boil how can the owner sleep tonight?!

Do the decent thing and give the cat away to charity asap so the poor thing can have treatment.

Call my cynical. But maybe the OP was hoping someone would send her some money for the cat, but the cat doesn’t really exist?

Even if you have to surrender your cat to a charity you must get treatment soon the cat can't wait for a go fund me page to hit a target

This.

@Catzparent You need to find a solution and fast, to not do so is really cruel.

Call Friends of the Animals.

https://friendsoftheanimals.co.uk/

They may be able to help you with the bill by giving you a voucher code for a local vet.

I'm sure OP is regretful enough not having insurance, let's keep this a space to support her

I agree, but I think it is appalling that vet fees are so high in the UK that people need insurance. I have been shocked at some of the fees I have seen quoted on MN. Some people here have pet insurance, but a lot don't and still manage to pay fees for normal treatment.
