Why do you think your cat is pregnant?

Thryty · 20/08/2024 08:44

You can't tell from a nipple photo.

Are you hoping she is?
Do you have a male cat you've mated her with?

GoldenPineapple15 · 20/08/2024 08:58

They look the same as my cat’s nipples - he is a 5 year old neutered tom !

dbeuowlxb173939 · 20/08/2024 09:33

No doesn't look like it.
You really should get her spayed though!

isthecatpregnant · 20/08/2024 10:17

She was being kept by her breeder as a queen, but they decided to sell her, which is why she’s not been spayed yet. I’ve not had her that long.

She escaped the house and disappeared for just under a week, came back with lots of scratches around her neck, she’s being super super affectionate and she’s normally a bit aloof.

My male cat is nurtured, and again a house cat.

My vets seem to be having low staffing problems at the moment and I can’t get her an appointment until next Thursday (I may try another vets)

I admit I did look at google pictures

My male cats nipples are totally different which is why I went to google.

How long ago was her disappearance?

Don't worry about your vet, find a local breeder scanner. They'll probably be both cheaper and more effective than your vet at pregnancy diagnosis and dating anyway. If you happen to be in the West Midlands or in Berkshire/Surrey area, I can make a recommendation.

Alicenwonderland · 20/08/2024 10:20

Potentially, my cat's nipples did grow when she was pregnant. Have they changed?

TerfTalking · 20/08/2024 10:22

Book the cat in for
neutering ASAP - if she is pregnant it will be taken care of.

Thryty · 20/08/2024 10:27

If she's already been forced to breed take her and get her spayed (they'll remove any kittens) poor things probably had enough kittens for a lifetime.

isthecatpregnant · 20/08/2024 10:29

She’s been back just under 2 weeks. (I was away when she escaped)

I’ve asked Dh to try another vets as I am in a meeting.

She doesn’t look any bigger in herself but hard to tell as she’s super fluffy. I just noticed her nipples while I was grooming her.

Just get her booked in. They'll remove any pregnancy. I'd try another vet if you can't get her in asap.

isthecatpregnant · 20/08/2024 10:32

She was never bred from - they had a few queens (the breeders do a lot of shows and have won many awards for their cats) and bless her she didn’t make the cut for either which is why I have her now.

Then if they deemed her unbreedable she should be spayed.
No reputable breeder would seel an unspayed queen :(

Are you going to get her spayed and end the pregnancy?
