Looking for good quality, mild smelling wet food

My cat won’t eat her cheap wet food any more. She was on Iams.
I tried her on Untamed tuna and thought I’d cracked it. It had a nice mild smell, not too wet looking and she loved it. So I got my first order and the formulation had changed - a very ripe smell, sloppy looking. She wouldn’t go near it - actually arched away. So I’ve cancelled that.
I don’t know what wet food she’ll eat actually, she just seemed to be ok with something mild in smell/almost human grade to look at.
Any possible recommendations?
Thanks

I use Webox Naturals. That doesn't smell to horrendous.

Easipeelerie · 30/07/2024 13:25

I’ll try that.

Untamed haven't changed their recipes lately. Did you originally get the untamed tuna in jelly? That is mild and not sloppy, not a complete food though. If you accidentally switched to tuna in gravy that would explain the change. The tins look almost identical too.

How about Blink in jelly, it's complete and not too bad smelling.

We’ve only had the tuna in jelly.
They have recently changed the tuna recipe. They told me they had, and explained their rationale for it when I emailed them this week - something about chelated minerals.

Lily's kitchen, the shredded fillets tins fit your description.

This is what our two have and they love them, I don't notice any smell tbh and their litter offerings are much better than on previous wet food.

Thanks both. I’ll try the Lily’s Kitchen fillets.

We use Katkin, it's expensive but the cats do well on it Trial 50% code

It comes frozen which is bit of a pain from a storage point of view. It's cereal and grain free and looks / smells good enough to eat. The duck and turkey ones are favourite in our house at the moment.

Untamed! The exact same thing happened with my cat. She loved the Tuna options and I went for the monthly order. She gobbled up the chicken ones but won't touch any of the fish ones. How odd. I wonder if it's a dodgy batch. I have loads of tins sitting in the cupboard now lol.

Oh I see you contacted them and they confirmed it had changed. How annoying!

For a mid price product we find Scrumbles good - both the meat in jelly and the shredded chicken in gravy. We are a veggie household except for our little obligate carnivores and we can cope with the smell so they can't be too strong. Cats love it.
