This is the most ridiculous thing I've done because of cats.

We're cruel and idiots, so we went on holiday, leaving the cats at home. They had someone visit them 2x a day, and our cleaner and gardener were around to provide extra entertainment, but still it was traumatic and highly offensive of us to leave the fur babies.

Now that we're home, they won't leave me alone. One of them keeps sleeping across the top of my head at night. Another one keeps curling up along my front and proddling me. There's a third one who randomly jumps up and paces the bed then runs away.

Anyway, I can't sleep. So I've left the bed for the cats to enjoy while I'm on the sofa instead. This is ridiculous, isn't it? Particularly as it's only a matter of time before they come and find me.

You mean they haven't found you yet?
Or demanded a three-course gourmet breakfast as you're up?

GogAndMagog · 12/07/2024 06:32

Can't you just close the door, put a wedge under it, earplugs to drown out their displeasure?

But yes 😆

KickAssAngel · 12/07/2024 06:35

Good, didn't use logic! DH says the same. They hammer at the door all night long so I don't get any sleep.

One just found me, but has opted for the cat hanging basket next to me rather than on me.

I'm in the US. I refuse to do breakfast for at least five minutes hours.

Ah yes this sounds familiar - I never learn either, lol. One of mine climbs on my pillow and wraps himself round my head. I basically wear him like a hat while trying to sleep! And he is too cute to move as he purrs in my ear…

KickAssAngel · 12/07/2024 11:44

Well I got 5 hours sleep and now they're climbing all over me demanding breakfast.

Yes, the hat wearing cat thing is what drives me bananas. I can't move and I get too hot.

Cheddar used to do that! And I once had a pair of long haired Persian ear muffs, on the hottest night of the year!

Oh Lord, you've reminded me of something from several years ago. We'd just got back from vacation, like an hour before, and we'd lost a night due to flights. I just staggered to my bed and fell asleep.

My long haired, over weight ginger Tom needed me so much that he literally lowered himself to sleep on my face. Luckily I woke up as he did this or he would have smothered me!

It definitely isn't safe to go on holiday if you have cats.
