FIV and insurance

It’s been suggested we should get a blood test for our cat. We got him as a rescue, and we’ve had him for a year, and he’s showing some signs that perhaps he may be FIV+

He is already an indoor cat so no issues there

We have PetPlan covered for life insurance - should he be positive do we need to update them. I was reading posts on here that insurance can go up massively for FIV+ cats 😳

If you need him to be covered for any FIV issues in the future then I would recommend speaking to them, as many policies have a limit as to how long you can wait to tell them about a condition if you want to claim for it.

Ours was three months (Tesco).
