Oh look at them being all cute together 😍

Vixen was relaxing on the bathroom windowsill during the brief half an hour of sun we've had this week.

fabulous result there @TheShellBeach
can you block behind the bathroom sink? Not that you should need to logically but you know cat logic.
or get a vanity sink and put his igloo in there

Block behind it?
There is barely any room to get round. I don't know how he got behind it in the first place. If you click on the picture you'll see there's no room at the bottom.
But nothing deters Gizmo.

How the devil did he get behind there??
😦😦😦 as you said, not even space for a kitten.

I don't know how he got behind there but he's determined to repeat the experience.

I was going to suggest putting an expensive cat bed there as that's normally a cat repellant but I see that wouldn't work! Gizmo is proving that cats are liquid.

Allergictoironing · 12/07/2024 06:38

I was about an hour later home last night for various reasons, but strangely no comment from the cats - usually at least Girlcat will come running to me crying for attention, while I get very reproachful looks from Tobias.

Found out this morning they were just biding their time to evince their disapproval. Vomit consisting of undigested biscuits, a bit of gritty (biscuit) pasty stuff, and the largest hairball I've ever seen, spread right across the top of the stairs. At least a) it wasn't spread in front of the loo door (possibly because Tobias likes to lie there guarding it for some reason) or b) left on the first step down from the top, where I probably wouldn't have seen it until too late.

However it was all made up for in my eyes when Tobias actually ran to me when I got downstairs for his morning bum and shoulder scratch.

LostCats · 12/07/2024 09:00

Ahhh Allergic! How lovely! (The scritches not the vom)

TheShellBeach · 12/07/2024 09:07

And Allergic, at least you didn't step in it.

Cats really can be disgusting little beasties.
And then we forgive them because they look cute and purr at us...

RumNotRun · 12/07/2024 11:25

I feel this is an appropriate quote.

Gizmo has figured out how to jump out of the window into the garden.

Now he just needs to learn to jump back up.

We're going on holiday in two weeks.

If Gizmo doesn't figure out the easy way back into the house, DS2 will have to stay in the house.

I haven't asked him yet but he loves the cats and he's only round the corner anyway.

I think Terry Pratchett would have been right at home on this chat.

He was very perceptive that Terry Pratchett.

Loving all the pictures @TheShellBeach. Hope your DS2 will keep us all updated 😁.
Sybil is prawning this morning.

Thank you for that link.
We may very well buy one if Mr G can't manage any other way.

I already love him. I was worried that he and Linney wouldn't get on, but they're fine. Not best buddies, but not knocking seven bells out of each other, either.

It was a good move to adopt the infamous Thug Cat.

It is quite easy to make a cat ladder- plank of wood of the required length then nail little strips of wood at regular intervals. Ours is attached but you could just put a couple of bricks at the bottom, then duct tape it on at the top to stop it slipping

That's a good idea.
It'll be a project for Mr SB.

The Happy Kitty Blankets I ordered have finally arrived. Toad claimed the first one, rolled round on it for ages and is now asleep on it. The other one is upstairs with Ghostie who seems equally enamoured. I think I may need to buy some more if Toad and Ghost don't learn to share!

prettybird · 12/07/2024 14:12

My parents put two wooden shelves into a wall to allow their two cats access to the cat flap in the window - which was itself specially constructed when we had double glazing put in, so the small opening window was at the bottom and rather than being glazed, was stainless steel/UPVC, into which my dad could put in a cat flap Grin

TheShellBeach · 12/07/2024 14:24

Have any of you got those cat water mats?
