We have a Labour MP for the first time in 20 years, and a female one for the first time in forever as far as I know. Both Thrifty and Izzy refuse to be impressed unless and until she comes round and demonstrates her skill at Stick and Blanket, which is currently the only game in town.

FWK is sulking because I called him today mainly to gloat that I (finally) have a red MP, and he's still stuck with a blue one.

Even worse for him is that he's in Norfolk & had an invitation to be at the results announcement, but is away for a few days. He is so sad he missed the opportunity to jeer & chant at Liz Truss when she lost her seat!

Girlcat and Tobias don't really care,. as long as a) I can afford to keep them in decent food, treat and Molly's Mice and b) as long as nobody comes round to the house as they don't do visitors (except Annie & her DS).

When we got back, Linney was in the front garden, and Gizmo was on the step, waiting for us to let him in.

Picard has now also entered the house, and Gizmo and he are busy hissing at one another.

Here in Wales we've had a Labour gov for some time who have managed to cock things up quite spectacularly over the years. Most of South Wales is firmly red though, despite moaning about the Senedd and Drakeford/Gething. I think Labour could sell off all the good bits to England and they'd still get voted in around here.

He knows, but he's not used to encountering a cat who hisses at him and tries to stop him.

I'm talking about Picard here. Picard can jump easily.

Gizmo cannot jump up to the window ledge from the garden. We don't know why. He can barely jump on to the table.

All the other cats jump up without difficulty.

There's a Pipe Band in the village today and they were marching and playing. Very stirring. Gizmo has popped down to have a look.
Linney is asleep in the garden.
