Benny is in so much trouble. Lots of noise downstairs around an hour ago. Went down to find feathers EVERYWHERE and the little orange beast throwing a dead Robin around and playing with it. A Robin of all things. Poor little thing 😢

Grumpyoldpersonwithcats · 03/07/2024 11:20

Sybil has found a Molly's Mouse and is very excited.

Time for a tracker on Mr G

I bet he was in someone else's house 🤣.

I did wonder if he'd broken into Picard or Suzy's house.
They only live a few doors away.

If he did, they didn't feed him. He was ravenous when he returned.

Mind you, Mr G is permanently ravenous.
🤣

Time for a tracker on Mr G

He wouldn't go out this morning.
Linney went, but Gizmo looked horrified at the thought.

Oh Benny!

Bad boy.

RIP Robin.

Perhaps Gizmo was tracking down his next target for breaking and entering.

Time for a terrible confession.

Gizmo went out at midnight last night, and only returned an hour ago. So he was gone for 23 hours.

Mr SB and I were frantic.

Here's the culprit, taken after he scoffed a whole pouch of grub, plus biscuits, two sachets of Lickelix which contained his medicine, and several Dreamies.

I wonder where he was?

Wow, that 'butter wouldn't melt' expression! He looks well though, and of course entirely indifferent to any stress he may have caused you!

And then trying to decide if he should eat his new toy, or play with it.

TC aka Gizmo, looks very ginger/red in your last photo.

PurpleSparkledPixie · 03/07/2024 16:34

I don't think it's the same cat. TC went away trying to find a body double and now that he has he's on his way to grumpys house.

I expect to hear news from Sybil and the boys soon.

Took Cat One to the vet for his vaccination yesterday. The neurotonin I gave him had absolutely no effect. Took two towels and a muzzle so the vet could give him the needle.
Vet has suggested two gabentin before his next visit, and they might sedate him intravenously so she can actually examine him.
I don’t think I could get two tablets into him. He does not like having one. Refuses to eat anything with a tablet skilfully hidden inside it so we do it the hard way, down the gullet.
This is him, right after the visit. As if it had all never happened.

Butter wouldn't melt, eh?
Gizmo is exactly the same.

It's lucky he enjoys Lickelix.

Apparently these seemingly friendly birds are among the most aggressive in the UK. They attack anything red - not just other robins but headless robin toys, headless wingless and tailless toy robins, even a red feather. I've seen stats saying that 10% of all robin deaths are caused by fights with other robins.

So no "poor little thing" about it lol

I also have a cat called Gizmo, here he is being stretchy 🐈

I thought Vixen had given up on proper "parroting" and would just perch briefly on my shoulder when I was using the toilet. Tonight however she has regressed and is lying on my shoulders, purring her socks off while I walk around the house getting ready for bed.

Cat With The Most Attractive Blep

...............is a competition which the management is now considering.

OP posts:
TheShellBeach · 03/07/2024 21:28

In fact, there is a school of thought which suggests that the cat who is entered for the

"Most Sub-Sections"

will become

Supreme Champion

OP posts:
RumNotRun · 03/07/2024 21:32

At times Vixen would win the longest blep, thereby combining the longest cat and best blep.

She won the Best Cat While Having Flea Treatment competition earlier in this house. Lexter came last after doing the biggest hiss at me and stabbing me with his claws.

TheShellBeach · 03/07/2024 22:32

Mr Gizmo would easily win

@Allergictoironing that makes me feel better, thank you! Although, when we got up this morning the 5yo and I found a dead, bald baby bird under the radiator.

As soon as we got home today I added two bells to Benny's collar. He is not impressed. I've also closed the downstairs windows that he was using during the night. Back to being stuck in overnight.

You may not know his reason for hissing at you but believe me he has one 😹.

For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the Cat.

I'm sure you're right.
We've discovered that Mr G often sits somewhere on the floor and declines to move.

That's when a judicious request gets the hissing response.

He won't budge.
