Can our boy be included in long cat, not overly long but long legs 🤣🐈‍⬛

LostCats · 02/07/2024 11:04

Ooh Kelly, those are long legs! Very beautiful ❤️

JoanOgden · 02/07/2024 11:09

Another long cat here (limbless version)

Agatha is also long for a small cat. She's not at full stretch here and is easily from my waist to the floor.

@ShoutyCatSlave what a cutie! I love a sleeping cat's face, the expression of utter bliss and contentment 😻

CatsonPollock · 02/07/2024 13:51

@ShoutyCatSlave Agatha is a long and very contented cat by the looks of it. 😻

We think Gizmo has arthritis. He can't seem to jump up at all.
He can jump down though.

Oh no! Will he need meds @TheShellBeach ?

He may do.
Linney gets Solensia once a month for his. He's a different cat since he started on it.

Never seen any evidence of that Shell - I think he's just used to people doing stuff for him.
He used to eat on top of a 5ft cat tree which he would run up at any sign of food...

He can't jump on to our dining room table.
He hoists himself awkwardly on to the TV stand and gets on to the table that way.
He can just about jump out of the window, but can't jump back up on to it.

Bear in mind that Linney, Suzy and Picard jump on to the window sill with ease, and so did all our previous cats.

Gizmo just looks up at it.

But it's the inability to jump on to the table which is telling. It's only three or four feet off the ground.

How old is Gizmo? our older dog has been on yumove supplements since he was 8, to keep him supple
for the inevitable slow down, he's now 10 and pretty fit.
You could maybe get him on supplements intially, see how he goes.

Breadcat24 · 02/07/2024 14:28

Oh shit shit ...
@Grumpyoldpersonwithcats all your cats are beautiful- please reassure Basil, Karl and Lenny ( the fact that I still cannot tell the difference between Karl and Lenny despite being told smoother rather than scruffy makes no difference to this comment)
Spent 3 hours at the allotment without seeing a single cat. Which was secretly why I went

Grumpyoldpersonwithcats · 02/07/2024 14:31

That's really odd - his route into our garden was by climbing straight up a six foot fence and leaping across onto our patio table. Clearly something has knocked his confidence, so worth a check.

LostCats · 02/07/2024 14:33

🤣 Breadcat. Fair enough! I think that’s more than enough reason to go 😁

I wonder if TC has just tipped over into needing meds because of the weather change from London area to Scotland. I know my arthritis does not love weather change in any form. Todays weather may go to for causing so much pain.

Maybe a sprain? Just hoping it's temporary for his and @TheShellBeach 's sake, saving trips to the vet and trying to get treatment into him.....

TheShellBeach · 02/07/2024 17:42

Gizmo was at the vet's last week, and she gave him some Solensia while he was unconscious, to see if that helped.

We'll see. We're not worried if he needs meds because he has taken both the things she prescribed for him, crushed into Lickelix.

His bladder has returned to normal as a result, and his diarrhoea has completely cleared up. He was producing 8 poos a day.

But Grumpy, maybe it was his dogged determination to get to you that made him ignore the pain. Such a brave boy

Time for a terrible confession.

Gizmo went out at midnight last night, and only returned an hour ago. So he was gone for 23 hours.

Mr SB and I were frantic.

Here's the culprit, taken after he scoffed a whole pouch of grub, plus biscuits, two sachets of Lickelix which contained his medicine, and several Dreamies.

I wonder where he was?

Linney seemed to know that Gizmo was missing.

We sent him out to look for him, to no avail.
