You're a small animal, lets say a cat. Tell me why you would do this?

So you're not a massive animal. You're about 7 or 8lb. You're not as big as a human for example, not even a child size human

And theres this thing called a Kingsize bed. Its very big. Its 5x6 foot. And you are probably only about a foot long spralled out.

So you can sleep anywhere on that bed, lots of space, huge amount of space for you.

But you choose the small spot where clean washing is put, ready to be put away.

Why do you do that? Why there when the bed is huge and you can sleep any where on it?

It smells wrong until I’ve slept on it.

DrJonesIpresume · 15/05/2024 23:02

A king-size bed? Pah. I am far more comfortable here inside this plastic bag, which one of my staff has kindly half-filled with shredded bank statements.

Enough4me · 15/05/2024 23:05

Always remember - I own you.
Be grateful I didn't chew my claws over it 😹

MaidOfAle · 15/05/2024 23:54

I must make this stuff that smells of detergent and fabric softener smell of me. I must tread on it thoroughly with my paws to make sure there are no prey or predators in it, and whilst doing the treading I determine that it is comfortable for sleeping on.

RogueFemale · 16/05/2024 00:23

It is a cat's mission to make the entire house smell of itself.

WetBandits · 16/05/2024 03:30

Because it’s my house, all the things in it are mine, and you just live here? You should count yourself lucky that I share the bed with you Confused

Oh, and I didn’t like how unfluffy those clothes were, so I fixed it xxx

Someone keeps spoiling my scent with clean washing smells

Maybe the cat loves the smell I'd clean washing.

MooseBeTimeForSnow · 16/05/2024 03:36

SORRY! CAN’T HEAR YOU! I’M ASLEEP UNDER THE DUVET!

Porridgewithhoneyandbannana · 16/05/2024 07:28

How dare you question your furry ruler! Be-gone human before I swat you with my tiny paw.

Pudmyboy · 16/05/2024 11:14

It's a cat thing. End of.😸

MrTiddlesTheCat · 16/05/2024 11:17

Because it bothers you. If you wanted me to sleep on that spot, hell would freeze over before I'd comply.

Breadcat24 · 16/05/2024 11:26

I hope you had the basic decency to sort the washing into individual piles across the bed so that the maximum effect of fur against different colours and types of fabric could be properly appreciated

I do that and my pacifism averse cat lies in the middle and tries to savage anyone who attempts to touch any of the piles.

Hmm nice clean white clothes.

@Minesril Gorgeous 😺 😻

Marblessolveeverything · 20/05/2024 07:53

Tut, tut, tut, questioning your overlord, this will go well.

TheFunHasGone · 20/05/2024 08:30

Who do you think you are questioning the master? For that I shall sleep really close to your head tonight and every time it looks like you are dropping to sleep I shall tap you in the face with my paw !

I can do it all night as I've had a long nap on some lovely clean laundry so I'm not tired

CrunchyCarrot · 20/05/2024 08:59

Why do slaves keep questioning the motives and wisdom of us felines? Sigh. I really shouldn't have to explain at all, but because you keep interrupting my sleep time, it's because those items do not smell of me and they must be subjugated, as well as have the regulation amount of my fur on them. Plus they're quite comfy. Now go away and let me sleep, hooman!

TheFunHasGone · 20/05/2024 14:13

You are lucky, I kept removing the furry fucker off my lap this morning so he peed on me in protest

HappiestSleeping · 20/05/2024 14:25

@soupfiend quite clearly it's because I didn't think you had enough to do, so I thought I would put hair on the clean clothes. It looked like you were "unbusy", so I solved that for you. When you have finished, I'll give you your next task.

I also like to sleep in the exact mathematical centre of the bed. Respect the excellence of my calculations

Anniegetyourgun · 21/05/2024 12:07

What a ridiculous thread. You wash it carefully, soften it, dry it, place it in a neat pile in the optimum spot for a nap and then complain the cat sleeps on it? I mean, what is clean laundry FOR? Next thing you'll be grumbling that the cat ate the cat food you put into its dish, or soiled the litter tray, or something. Honestly, people, get with the plot. 😾

This is a fantastic cat's-eye-view of, well, everything. Once we understand that the furry blighters see everything we do as being for them, the clean washing being seen as a new cat bed makes perfect sense and it would be rude of the cat to shun such a gift.
