My beautiful boy is gone

He was run over, I feel such guilt. He would cry to go out the front door and he usually just stayed on the windowsill or our pathway but something must have caught his eye. People speed down our road even though it's 20 and has speed bumps.

A very kind man found him, wrapped him up and took him the the local vet.

The house feels so quiet without him, he was a yowler.

I had always hoped I'd be with him at the end and that should have been years ahead. Feel so lost.

He was a streetcat from Singapore, and such a personality, he was huge but so gentle and sweet. Slept at the foot of the bed or cuddled close on my pillow.

Devastated

@KayDog he's home, spent the night in the neighbours garage, she kindly got out of bed this morning to unlock it. I apologise for hijacking your thread. Back to my original loss of our Siamese,
The pain of loss in this way he's now lessened and I cut some of his fur, a claw and whiskers to keep. I also painted a picture of him which makes me feel he is still with us.
I am so sorry for your loss xx

I feel your pain and have been there more than once. He was a beautiful boy who I'm sure had a wonderful life with you. Don't blame yourself-we have to take risks for pets at times ❤️🐾

Oh fantastic news! And you did not hijack the thread at all, this is what MN is for, sharing and supporting.
Ah so glad for you, give him a chin rub for me!

I have woken up crying every morning since he has been gone but this morning I haven't which feels like a bit of progress. The vet will be taking his paw print and clippings for me so I'm glad I'll have those and I'll be collecting his ashes at some point this week. I'll never forget him, he was one of a kind Star

I lost my beautiful cat this way when she was around one year old. I was heartbroken to see her brother watching the cat flap waiting for her to come back.

The grief does ease, you'll feel better in time.

My other cat is hanging around the cat flap a lot and has become more vocal but the thing is she didn't like him at all so I don't think she's missing him 🙈
But I wonder if there a small part of her that is wondering where he is.

Sorry for your loss, I know it hurts like hell.

He was a beautiful boy

RosesAndHellebores · 06/05/2024 08:35

He was beautiful. He was also lucky to have found love.

You didn't say how old he was but every year with you would have been a year of love and comfort he wouldn't have had on the streets of Singapore.

Hoping our old boy and the older boys and girl before him are taking care of him on the other side of the rainbow bridge.Flowers

I'm really sorry for your loss. Your love gave him a very happy life 💐

He would have been around 14, we weren't sure how old he was when we got him. He'd been hanging round a hawker, getting in peoples way to get food and some folks didn't take too kindly to that so the local pet sitter (who would feed strays, neuter them etc) decided he needed a home so he came to me. Attached a photo of him as a kitten, he was all limbs and ears 😂
He walked in our house curled up on a pillow and fell asleep, and that was it, he was home x

Oh my gosh. My DH just saw your message on our local Facebook! I’m so desperately desperately sorry. I know your road well and can’t understand why anyone would drive too fast there. It’s the same as our road. No one needs to drive so fast anywhere.
My DH sends his sincerest condolences too. I hadn’t mentioned this thread to him as I’ve been so sad about it and he showed me the picture.

Oh thank you so much. You're right, the road I'm in there's just no need to go so fast, but it happened, I miss his so much. I keep trying to tell myself to pull myself together but it's impossible, he was such a super cat, I'll miss him so much

I'm so sorry, op. He was such a gorgeous boy. What a lovely man who found him, to be so caring. I hope that has brought you some comfort.

We lost our beautiful girl after a very quick illness and we had assumed we would have her for many more years so it was a huge shock. The grief is very raw and there are reminders everywhere that bring on the tears. We scattered her ashes in her favourite shady spot in the garden and I go and talk to her there which helps. Let the tears come for now and in time you'll be able to remember him and smile at the happy meowmories xxx
