Cat has eaten boozy trifle

The cat has just eaten the best part of a trifle sponge that was soaked in sherry - he seems ok, should I be worried?

Yes I’d ring the vets, Sherry comes from grapes and lots of animals can’t have grapes. There will be someone manning the lines or your insurance may have a helpline but I’d try the vets first. You won’t be the first person it’s happened to.

I don't even know how he got into it - it was (I thought) well sealed.

What is it with cats and sponge cake? My childhood cat ate half a swiss roll once, when mum's back was turned.
