Long story - cat seemed withdrawn and stopped jumping. Vet said issue with lumbar area and put him on Metcalm. He was very sick with that and they then put him on Gabapentin. Initially he was better but then deteriorated and we had to seek emergency vet care on Sunday night as he was flat out on the floor. He has seen another vet in emergency and now in a specialist hospital and they still can't figure out what is wrong with him. He had decreased levels of potassium and glucose and has been on drips. They have taken samples of his liver and kidney during an ultrasound. They say no liver shunt. He is eating better and is more active but they don't know what is causing these low levels. So far it has cost 8000 Pounds and we have no insurance cover left. Has anyone had any issues with Gabapentin or similar low potassium and glucose levels?

Bumping for you. I'm afraid I have no idea about bad reactions.

How are they doing?
