Two DSH (moggies) black .
They do grow the most lucious coats in winter , almost overnight . So now it;s time to get sleek again.

Our boy was going a bit overboard with grooming , we took him to the Vet who checked him and said try avoiding fish . (allergenic for some cats )
His fur patch looks better and we're monitoring .

We now have the annual scattering of fur on every step , dining room chair cushion, cat tower , hammock , our bed .

I am gathering it up and will knit a few kittens .

Ours seem to moult 12 months of the year.
Knee deep in black (and grey) fur all the sodding time. Just as well we love 'em 🤣.
I do like the idea of knitting kittens though - if we collected all the fur they dropped I think we'd have enough to knit a panther..

One of mine doesn't shed
The other is barely noticeable
The oldest sheds year round - I could brush him daily and get two massive handfuls of fluff out of him 🙄

Our cat is always pretty bad for moulting but is currently really terrible, white hair everywhere!

I've got enough whiskers in my collection to turn the knitted kitten into a porcupine Easter Grin

I'm glad I'm not the only person who collects whiskers! 😸 (Dropped, of course - I don't pull them out)...

Our black most bootiful house-panfer Girlcat moults as she does everything - discreetly and with maximum stealth, you rarely see any fur unless she's been having an intensive belly nibble.

Our Boycat used to go 'trailing clouds of glory' all year round, it seemed... a puff of golden fur accompanied him everywhere, and we'd find sort of swirly nests of it where he'd been sleeping... he wasn't bald, he just had loads of it to spare. A rude Cat Daddy might have suggested that the fat was pushing it out... 😑

This creature is moulting but hates being brushed. I use a red brush mitten when she deigns to tolerate it, on Weds to be precise. This is after brushing, noticeably smoother not that she cares!.

My girl is always moulting (especially at the dreaded v e t). She's got a lovely thick coat on her and hates to be groomed so we cope with fluff everywhere!

Yes, trails of black floof everywhere at the moment, even just stroking her turns up a handful. She also has a luxuriant black coat. The stair carpet in particular seems to attract it.

Ha mine is the absolute same re grooming. She adopted me and moved in (all above board old owners agreed to this) but she hates the cat brush so it’s the mitt with brush on it. She tolerates that for a very short time. But then gets hair balls. And loves to wash herself obsessively after you stroke her.

CaraMiaMonCher · 09/03/2024 09:37

Yes, both moulting like floof is going out of fashion! Tiny girl just leaves clumps of fur all over the place, bigger boy cat leaves more of an even covering of it in all his favourite places.

My two are never not moulting! White fur on everything. And we have dark carpets 🫠

JoanOgden · 09/03/2024 10:51

Judging by the two enormous hairballs she has disgorged in recent weeks - yes Hmm

twobluechickens · 09/03/2024 11:14

Beautiful kitties everyone!

TheShellBeach · 09/03/2024 11:18

Mine is definitely leaving clumps of white fur all over the house.

Not moulting yet. But I'm sure there will soon be white fur all over the place.

Our DCat has lots of hair to spare and loves to share the love. Hair everywhere and even immediately after hoovering there will be tumbleweed moments where ever she has been. Good job we love her!
