I use clumping litter but don't use a liner. No need if you fill the tray deep enough.

Yes, I do

I only use liners with cats who are very messy (mostly diarrhoea in foster kittens or ones who wee up the side of the tray) where I need to empty the tray daily. In the period that you can keep clumping litter in the tray, I imagine almost all cats will end up scratching through the liner, so I'd just do a deep layer of clumping litter to avoid fluids hitting the bottom of the tray.

No. We tried them and they just made the trays even messier and harder to clean.

Toddlerteaplease · 05/03/2024 22:26

No, they just shred them.

No. Cats don't like liners either as they can catch on their claws and they can't satisfyingly dig properly as it slides around. It interferes with their natural behaviour. You really don't need a liner, just scoop clumps frequently and clean the tray out every so often.
