Boy cat hates his sister after her spay

We had our 7 month old kitten spayed two days ago. Her brother, who is already neutered, is now refusing to go near her. He’s growled and hissed at her and he’s been hiding. She has a cone on for a week, which I think he finds a bit scary but I just wondered how long this might go on for?

Boy cat is usually really affectionate but he isn’t coming near us much and poor girl cat keeps trying to follow him round, she can’t understand why he doesn’t like her :( they usually snuggle up together. Any ideas how I can help?

She probably smells different. Abs the cone will look scary. I didn't bother it's a cone or a suit because my cat was so tiny, nothing fitted. She didn't touch the wound.

I also think the cone is probably scaring him and like @Toddlerteaplease has said, the smell as well. Once the cone is off and the smell of the Vet has gone he'll settle down again.

We took the cone off as girl cat hated it and then they were fine. He is just scared of how she looks and smells.
Feliway helps (I know I recommend them a lot but they really do).

She stinks of the vet and she's turned into a huge, coneheaded monster crashing through his world.

He's scared of her.

We had this too after our female was spayed, our boy was growling at her for about 10 days and before he started to tolerate her.
They were very close before the spay but unfortunately this never returned after mainly from his side. It was sad as she was always crazy about him.

Aww I hope it’s only temporary! They were so sweet with each other before, I will give it a few days then take the cone off, I don’t think she can manage a whole week.

Our girl cat vanished for a couple of nights one summer - probably locked in a neighbour's shed or something. When she returned, hungry and presumably smelling of shed, her brother was terrified. He couldn't understand who she was and why we were stroking her. He did come round.

Our boy cat did this. In fact he gets 'hissy' whenever his sister goes to the vets. He doesn't like the vet smell
