What is the evolution of your cat’s nicknames?

When my girl was a kitten, she was very elegant, slim, and long legged from a Siamese and Bengal heritage (she’s not now as she likes her food a bit too much) so we would call her Tiptoes which became:

These are not the only names by which she is known but it’s one subset that I can identify.

How did your cat get their nickname and how did it evolve?

Ds couldn’t say cat. The new cat was Tat-Tat. It just stuck. 10 years later she’s Tats or Tatsy.
Sometimes Tatsy McGoogoo. We don’t know where that came from!

Our cat has so many names now I've lost track.
The one that seems to have stuck is Womble, after one of us used it one day to say she was outside wombling-free.

It is gratifying to know that we are all completely normal and in good company with our cat nicknames.

Our cats don't have a special song (but I sing to them regularly) so it's nice to hear that some of yours do 😊

Unfortunately the only nickname my cat has is but head 🤣 he's a bit of a tinker as the guy who owns the cattery describes him.

Our childhood dogs were Wispa and Fudge (chocolate labs) and they got wipsa poo l, I just used to call him poopy, no idea where he got that name. And fudgy baby

We went from Coco
to coco-loco
to licky loco
To Licky.

and now I have a cat called licky - so much so we’ve had to change her name at the vet 🤦‍♀️ occasionally someone calls her coco and the whole family look confused, not just the cat.

Oh and her song is ‘her name was licky, her paws were sticky’ to the tune of copa cabana.

I got my cat from a rescue shelter two months ago and named her Pumpkin.

So far I have also called her:

-'Pupu' (which I randomly found out means 'bunny' in Finish...)
-'Crazy Monkey' or just 'Monkey'
-'Crazy cat'
-'Lazy cat'...

My neighbour called her cat 'Wallace' and calls him 'Wee wee'' when he is in the garden and she is trying to get him to come back in...

Female rescue cat that was tiny and skinny when we got her. She had been shaved because her coat was all knots and was a poor wee soul. She was called Beanz then. We immediately changed her name to Bea.

She is now long haired, fluffy and very regal. She gets called,

Bea, beebee, queen Bea, bee bee la boo boo, lady jayne, cutie patootie, gorgeous girlie girl beebee 😂
