They either don't like the new litter or they REALLY like it

We've been on a bit of a litter journey these last couple of weeks. I was using Catsan Natural Litter, then found a coconut husk litter so tried that as it was significantly cheaper than the Catsan. It was awful but I couldn't get more of the Catsan one (I have to buy it from a town 30 mins away and I didn't have time to go) so out of desperation I bought a £2 bag of litter from Morrisons. Finally yesterday I went out of town to find my usual shop didn't have the Catsan so I had to buy Intersand (the unscented one).

And since I put it in the tray one of my kittens just keeps digging in it! He's not even going in there, he just sticks his arm through the door and digs away. I've got up this morning to the litter mat just FULL of litter and a chunk of poo had even been pulled out! The tray is clean, I scoop it regularly, it's plenty deep enough so I'm not really sure why he's doing it! He's never done it with the Catsan one.

Does he just like the feel of running it through his paws or something? 😅

No help but sainsburys do a pink one that's pretty much like catsan.

Felight or something maybe? Grains are a bit smaller but mine don't seem to mind the difference.

Felight's not clumping though is it?

No idea. But I use intersand and my cats love it. It probably feels very strange to him as it feels like sand.

The Catsan Natural is similar though 🤔 he doesn't seem to be doing it today, maybe he was just happy to be able to dig in it easily and the novelty has worn off now 🤣

I have a sifiting tray that you use with wood pellets.. when he wees he scratches so the wet sawdust sifts into the bottom tray .. so no smells at all.. l just scoop out the poo into a poo bag .
Only needs changing twice a week.
Best thing invented.. hardly use any pellets.
