10 year old Maine coon died this morning

Just looking for a handhold really. Went downstairs to the utility room to let him in the rest of the house and found him under the clothes horse not moving... still warm ... absolutely devastated.. kicking myself for having half an hour extra in bed .. if I was up he wouldn't have died alone ☹️ was absolutely fine when i took the dog out for a wee at 4 am ..

I'm so very sorry for your loss.

Don't kick yourself about the extra time in bed. I once lost a "perfectly healthy" 4 year old cat. We'd been having a hug in bed and I got up for a quick wee. She had passed away by the time I got back. The vet could only guess it was heart failure.
