I made the mistake of showing the thread to my servants and they resigned en masse.

4:43am - There is no wake-up alarm more effective than the sound of your cat barfing on your bed 🤦🏼‍♀️

This has nothing to do with cats whatsoever, but it’s one of the bits of humour I’m proudest of in my life - I speak in a high sort of RP accent and don’t set-shift well so I sound like I’m trying to be posh and get teased about it. One time for some reason we were being asked to sing songs in choir with a more estuary pronunciation and the choir mistress shouted to me “sing it like your servants would, Cecile” and I came back straight away with “my servants are extremely well spoken, thank you very much”. By the way, they are also well-mannered enough not to mention that my cat has pants on her head. So there.

6am here. Had my earplugs in and could feel the bed shaking. Not a seismic event though, just a barf. Now acting like nothing has happened while I put the duvet cover (which only went on the bed on Monday) in the wash 🙄

They are incredibly stupid @Grumpyoldpersonwithcats and are quite happy to be dressed up or picked up or wrapped up. They are very much like animated soft toys 🤣🤣

This should probably be on Stately Homes but am I bad? Have had a bit of a follow and attack by a certain poster and I’m currently right next to sleepy Velvet who despite having been mistreated before she came to us has calmed right down and is very happy to sleep next to me six weeks after adoption. Makes me very nervous that I’m a bad one and have hurt her and other people. Paying obligatory cat photo tax too.

Also @TheShellBeach it looks like Linney is under the sheet and Velvet is impersonating a cushion.

Thanks. It just really does make you feel dirty or bad and I’ve been scared to touch velvet in case I hurt her. It’s been less a difference of views and more a targeted pile-on of one, making me scared to go near Stately Homes which is why I rejoined this site.
