Phoebe's like that - she ends up with more food on her mat than her saucer in no time (then comes complaining her saucer's empty). At least with dry food I can just put it back.

I was wondering whether to get one of those tilted bowls, but suspect it would be a waste of money.

I tend to alternate between bulk boxes of wet food in jelly and wet food in gravy. But with the jelly I need to chop it up very small with a spoon or fork, because Tobias has a habit of grabbing a chunk and if it's bigger than his ideal mouthful he pulls it off the bowl and gnaws away at it on the floor.

It's fair to say that the new posh china has been an unmitigated disaster. Last time I take advice from MN 🤣

I put my bowls inside a large but shallow litter tray (clean and unused of course). Then I wash it with the bowls.

Ha ha Grumpy, but I bet the DCats feel terribly posh eating off it!

Agatha drags choice chunks of food out of her bowl and onto the door mat. The wetter the better. Then cries at me when I have to take it away to wash....

Christmas has arrived for Sybil - a new box to play in. (We hadn't even got all contents out before she dived in).

I have absolutely no idea what is going on in any of those photos but they’re still funny.

Sybil’s murder mittens…

You can tell the temperature has dropped tonight - normally she snoozes on the other sofa.
Tonight I am extra privileged because I have also been permitted to give tummy rubs. Meanwhile she is gently farting into my sleeve. So charming.

Well, Velvet has had a thrilling day of sleeping. First she slept on my feet, then she slept on my boyfriend’s feet (I think by accident because she doesn’t seem to know what feet are and we were sitting under a duvet) then when he left she curled up in the exactly perfect place to prevent me putting my head down for a nap. She then moved to her basket where my mother just put her hand on her for the entire evening (some jealousy issues are going on but I won’t bore you) and then moved back on to the duvet at my feet after a brief bout of zooming, throwing food around and biting random objects. The only slight problem is that my room is cold, I am cold and my duvet is still on the sofa, and I wouldn’t move a sleeping cat! (That made me think of that copyright advert “you wouldn’t steal a handbag” etc). She also snores a bit.

Many thanks to all of Sybil's admirers for your lovely comments. I think she's gorgeous too.
I should note that when playing with her you have to be really careful because the claws on the end of her murder mittens are fecking sharp and she still moves with lightening speed. Playing at pen length is much the safest bet. At least she doesn't bite though, unlike her brother who is a right bitey bastard 🤣.

@pointythings - lovely pic of Lasagne, and most impressed envious that he eats in a much neater manner than ours do.

Sybil is beautiful, I forgot to say! She shares the extreme claw sharpness and lightning speed with Velvet but luckily Velvet’s also really stupid and clumsy (love her to bits but she’s REALLY not the sharpest knife in the box even if she has the sharpest claws). She also really does seem to think that a sharp smack with claws retracted is going to destroy and small prey and keeps claw use mainly for climbing things in very bizarre ways - I’ve never seen a cat try to climb the underside of a tree branch or sideways along a staircase.

She’s always beautiful :) and that’s a pillow! Boyfriend and I slept in the spare bed (mine can just about deal with the combination of me and Velvet but definitely not me and boyfriend). I’m very undernourished and need warmth right now but I should really have been in bed by nine. We’d taken the duvet and pillows downstairs again - I sleep downstairs but we only took them to the sofa - and she promptly went to sleep all tucked up so I sat there and read four hundred pages of my novel before I went to bed and spent several more hours with feet like ice blocks. Easily five AM before I dropped off. The things we do for love eh?

H looks like he’s going to go again, doesn’t he. Meh.

I’ve got to get a Santa hat on him cos NDN’s having surgery today and she’ll need a cheer up over Xmas on the ward. Tips?
