Calling all cats and their overworked slaves - join us as we grudgingly accept that every day is National Cat Day as far as our moggies are concerned.

When I set up my very expensive bed linen business, I am going to ask Linney if he will do a spot of modelling. Everything will fly out of the store. There would also be a role for other Litter Tray Cats reclining on silvery furry throws.

Ooh. Will there also be a large discount for us all?

SequentialAnalyst · 01/11/2023 16:46

@nettie434 you could advise people what bedding to get, based on the fur colour of their furry overlords. Although I'm not sure how easy that would be in practiceConfused

nettie434 · 01/11/2023 17:02

Of course there will be a discount for everyone on the Litter Tray, Shell. And yes, SequentialAnalyst, I think coordinating colours will definitely be an essential option. Lots of strong greens and oranges for black cats and ochre or sand would be nice for a tortoiseshell. It's quite sensible really as there are plenty of cats who spend more time on beds than the humans who just occupy the beds at night.

I quite often have good ideas for businesses but don't want to put the hard graft in!

Mr Linney - waiting for me on the bed

OMG I want to snuggle that furry tummy!!!😻

TheShellBeach · 01/11/2023 17:22

I think white is the best colour bed linen for Linney.
I know he sinks into the background when photographed. But can you imagine what my duvet cover would look like if it was navy blue, and Linney spent a day on it?

A friend and I planned a range of cat food that would appeal to cats, as opposed to humansWink Instead of beef, lamb, etc, why not Sparrow, or Mouse, or even Rat?

I have ideas for businesses all the time, none of them remotely feasible! And I know I couldn't actually run one, even if it wasGrin

Allergictoironing · 01/11/2023 17:32

I find pattered bed linen to be the best for not showing fur. Plus you don't have to throw it away if the cat does one of "those" vomits on it that leaves a stain however many times you wash it (looking at you here Tobias!)

Spider and moth would probably also be very acceptable.

You could add cat drinks to your range.
Dirty puddle
Flower pot
Eau de Toilette 🙀

Yes indeed.
There's a business opportunity for somebody here.
Getting supplies would be really easy.

I'd be worried àbout sitting on Linney so would have to have a contrasting colour duvet, I think. I have a couple of cream ones and they never stay clean for very long (glares at dog).
Last night I gotso fed up with the squabbling going on between Matt and the dog that I told them I was going to sell them, or in fact give them away free.
Then I told them they'd be going back to the RSPCA and the travellers respectively, and that I'd only be keeping Socks because she's a good girl.
They're all still here and not noticably subdued by these threats, needless to say. 😂

TheShellBeach · 01/11/2023 18:25

Papergirl, your posts always make me laugh.

I can imagine the menagerie just paying no attention whatsoever to anything you say.

OP posts:
Papergirl1968 · 01/11/2023 18:45

No attention whatsoever! 🤷
The dog will insist on trying to play with Matt, and gets a smack across the face from his paw, while Matt glares and hisses every time he meets her eye.
Matt bullies Socks too and I have to stand guard over her while she eats because she'll just walk away and let him have it. Once she's finished there's a race between Matt and the dog to hoover up anything left on her plate.
It's a madhouse!

Papergirl1968 · 01/11/2023 22:14

Cats have nearly 300 facial expressions, according to the Mail online, and are not inscrutable like many people think.
I wonder if there's one for "I want to kill my siblings and go back to bring an Only Cat" ?

Agatha isn't up for much of anything. Possibly dribbling into my ankles as she snores. I become her bestest friend when she's wet and I have a blanket over my legs. I am Mrs Mosty Toasty right now, but would quite like to be Mrs Off To Bed.

Finlay is feeling the heat tonight (I succumbed and put the heating on for first time this winter)
He doesn’t understand this warm stuff and just wants to chill out

I have been viciously savaged. Lexter (nicknamed Possum by my best friend) decided he didn't like having his dirty claws cleaned.

He is the only one with such filthy feet but like a typical cat, he gives not one fuck.

FaintlyInglorious · 01/11/2023 23:43

Here are our two. They absolutely love each other.

One of my girls went out at 9.30 last night. The rain was lashing and the wind howling. She wasn't back when I went to bed, worried, at 11.30. I was so pleased to see her this morning!

RosesAndHellebores · 02/11/2023 09:52

@Grumpyoldpersonwithcats haha. One of mine left a mouse next to the food bowl the other day 😋

@FaintlyInglorious what beautiful loving kitties.

Slumbering cuddlers balm to the soul here. Prince slept in the crook of my legs, most pleasant.

nettie434 · 02/11/2023 13:17

Ouch, RumNotRun. That looks painful. Those photos of Finlay are very funny., JaceLancs. Agatha looks like she likes things more toasty. What a very handsome pair of cats, FaintlyInglorious.

Always impressed by your role as United Nations Negotiator between dog, Matt and Socks, Papergirl1968! Hope you are ok otherwise.

LostCats · 02/11/2023 13:50

Ooh, careful with that one @RumNotRun Don’t want it getting infected. Happened to a friend of mine recently. Was grim.

Boone drew blood today. He can’t control his claws so well anymore and uses them for all balance and my leg was useful. Couldn’t understand why my knee was wet underneath my trousers. Until I remembered and had to get plasters and antiseptic. Poor guy. He had an accident in the house last night as raining too much for outside wees. Sleeping happily on a warm blankie now.

TheShellBeach · 02/11/2023 15:39

Aw. Poor Boone.
How old is he now, @LostCats ?
