Calling all cats and their overworked slaves - join us as we grudgingly accept that every day is National Cat Day as far as our moggies are concerned.

She sounds like the exact opposite of Velvet @Catsmere. She needs 2-3 hours of play very day and she loves a fuss and a smooch but would be terrified by a proper cuddle or picking up and if she’s touching me when she snoozes with an inch of her body I feel privileged. Shame we won’t be able to get them to meet, I feel like they’d be an amazing little lesbian couple who would love the most charmed lives!

LOL @CeciledeVolangesdeNouveau Velvet would probably get Daisy to run around a bit more, at least! She and Phoebe do cavort around, mostly under my bed at night, but she's a very sedentary cat despite only being six. It's probably at least partly because we're in such a tiny unit, she's not interested in playing with toys, and she's never taken to being walked. People think she's the older one! Phoebe on the other hand acts like she's barely out of kittenhood.

Velvet loves cavorting and especially under furniture! If Phoebe and daisy could bear with her until her admittedly slow brain caught up we’d be golden!

Linney was all alone today while we did a 160 mile round trip for an out patient appt. for Mr SB.

Linney was pretty cross with us when we returned.

News from chateau velvet: three successful sorties today and now she is doing some VERY halfhearted frolicking due to exhaustion. She gained some more members of her fan club yesterday (this may be a retelling of an anecdote) but a very close friend said she wanted to visit the cat before hastily correcting herself to “and you”. It’s OK, we always know the cat is the main attraction.

Velvet is being very busy Cecile while the other Litter Tray cats are hunkering down in the cold. Linney does look very displeased Shell. Hope he has forgotten about it now.

Matt has been discharged by the vet (again). He was not happy at the indignity of having his catheter removed, but glad it was out all the same, I think.
The total vet bill was around £750 - thank goodness for overdrafts.

Benny is being an absolute babe. After I took this photo be crawled onto me for cuddles and is currently curled up under my chin, headbutting my hand for strokes. He really is just lovely.

Velvet has attempted to consume a cardboard box and a book today (neither successfully, but there’s a big bite mark on the box). She’s now curled up on my bed after several very balletic but also clumsy and pointless athletic moves during playtime. She’s asleep so I’m going to sneakily read the end of the book while she’s not looking.
