Calling all cats and their overworked slaves - join us as we grudgingly accept that every day is National Cat Day as far as our moggies are concerned.

@RumNotRun No, no, you are mistaken. Look at those faces... those faces are cats who have already plotted.

CeciledeVolangesdeNouveau · 07/11/2023 17:37

@YesItsMeIDontCare they’re meditating to get themselves in the right headspace to carry out their well-laid plans…

nettie434 · 07/11/2023 17:39

I don't think RumNotRun's cats are plotting. They both have the expression of cats in post plot satisfaction.
.
I love the arty Linney photo. Is that another phone feature you have mastered, Shell?

Agree with everyone that Velvet looks like a snow leopard. Amazing!

RumNotRun · 07/11/2023 18:17

You're all probably right. For the last week or so, the evil duo have been sat in the hallway together looking mischievous, that was clearly plotting time. Today was basking in the sunlight as a reward for a plot well done. Goodness knows what they're planning. There's no ham or chicken left in the fridge so that may have something to do with it.

Now I just have Toby Toad and Raven being bookends (sofa ends?)

Maybe they’ve done it already, but the plan was made so well you haven’t noticed…

TheShellBeach · 07/11/2023 18:45

I've found all sorts of things on this phone's camera, @nettie434

I don't really understand most of them but the poster thing is quite effective.

I'm improving.

@TheShellBeach I've got a new mobile arriving sometime soon.
When it arrives, will I be able to work the camera properly? Not for a while, that's for sureConfused Grin

There are some lovely pictures of St Gertrude of Nivelles to be found. This is my favourite (click the image for its caption):

That cat genie product is wild! I wonder if it works?

CeciledeVolangesdeNouveau · 08/11/2023 08:24

The CatGenie product made me laugh. I’m housebound and off sick and I often play the Sims while chatting with my boyfriend, who recommended it. There’s a self-cleaning litter tray in that but I find my suspension of disbelief a little challenged by reading about a real-life one!

Grumpyoldpersonwithcats · 08/11/2023 09:25

I understood that cat crap shouldn't be flushed as it may contain parasites that aren't removed at water treatment plants?

TBF human crap can also sometimes contain parasites.

Human crap always contains a vast amount of bacteria and yes, does contain slightly larger… guests, but there’s probably a lot of filtration etc going on at a treatment plant. But I’d hope that the possibility of something that isn’t human excrement being flushed down the loo has entered the heads of those designing these systems.

That refers to toxoplasmosis, I think. Cats that live indoors and not fed raw meat are very unlikely to have that parasite.

Grumpyoldpersonwithcats · 08/11/2023 09:55

All I know for sure is that our local provider (Thames Water) have said don't do it due to the toxoplasmosis issue.

I'll do as I'm told (this time anyway 🤣)

LostCats · 08/11/2023 09:57

Ah rats. Not that I’d be getting one any time soon but it does seem such a good idea. Especially as I’m severely immune compromised so any chance of germs gives me the panics 😁

RumNotRun · 08/11/2023 11:58

Jackson Galaxy (My Cat From Hell programme) is very against the autocleaners and tells people off if they have them when he goes to assist with their cat.

They're way out of my price range for the tribe so I haven't really looked at why he dislikes them. Also knowing my demon creatures they would somehow break the thing the day after the warranty expired.

YesItsMeIDontCare · 08/11/2023 13:07

I used to have an automated litter tray, probably about 20 years ago. Big bulky thing and it scooped clumps and poop into a plastic container which you then binned. Worked great 'til Sir Brian joined us - he had diarrhoea a lot... scrubbing shit of the prongs of a massive electronic unit that can't be immersed in water was, well, shit 🤢 Got rid of it.

LostCats · 08/11/2023 13:16

Ahhh! And that sounds like an excellent reason I’d never get one Yes

TheShellBeach · 08/11/2023 14:15

Linney, on being told that DS2 is moving to the village.

Afternoon all. I can't keep up these days, what with so many new (to me) posters and my life being on the chaotic side. However, I'm now off sick with the flu, so have caught up. I've always loved that photo of Leroy in the box!

Walter and Benny are good. Benny goes out with Walter now he's fully protected: jabbed, snipped, chipped, insured etc. We had a few hairy moments where he ventured onto the kitchen roof, but he's mostly pretty good. At home however, he's a menace! No food is safe, he lies in wait on the landing to stick a paw out and bop anyone who wants to use the stairs. He dive bombs poor Walter from the top of the sofa on a regular basis. He makes us laugh and we adore him. The orange is strong in this one 😂 He's going to be huge. Not quite six months yet and he's already massive! I'd post some photos but the app isn't playing ball.

TheShellBeach · 08/11/2023 15:31

Sorry you've got the flu @coastergirl . That's rubbish.

But glad the mogs are keeping you entertained.
