Calling all cats and their overworked slaves - join us as we grudgingly accept that every day is National Cat Day as far as our moggies are concerned.

She’s gorgeous!

Hoping you’re talking about velvet - she’s a lovely little fawn Bengal with big blue Siamese eyes, her coat looks like it’s got glitter in it! I think I’m in love :) all cats are beautiful but she’s particularly striking, she looks like a snow leopard in a sepia photograph.

We definitely need moar Velvets photos!!

Do you have a DCat yourself? I don't (used to though), not even a NMC (technical term - Not My Cat) This thread lets me see lots of pictures and anecdotes of cats, though

He looks like another feline version of that “I don’t always…” ad/meme sitting like that! 😻

Floof who is a very curious cat of little brain came upstairs today with a dark red paw 🐾, we are having the back door painted dark red though Floof claimed he had been nowhere near it. Nor the window which was painted white and Floofs ear became white. Thankfully all came off with water and soap.

And as soon as I started clearing clothes cupboard Floof jumped on the clothes to clear then put his front paws a metre high against the wall and his back paws started slipping like a cartoon scene but he managed to save himself. He then started trying to poke me with his big paw.

My brother and SIL lost their dog just over a year ago after many many years 😢 went round on Sunday for a chat. Suddenly SIL jumps up and opens the back door. They now have 2 NMC's who visit for dreamies daily 🤣🤣

SIL told me they aren't cat people... I remember my brother with our childhood cat so I think they might turn into cat people 😉

@LightDrizzle actual cat beds seem to become more attractive as the temperature drops but over the years we have bought many, with varying degrees of success

Here are a couple of Dcat1 in the kindling basket and DCat2 in a very uncomfortable looking box!

@YesItsMeIDontCare I agree it’s not expected, but Leroy looks very dapper and cool. I’d have expected him to open a branch of the Mafia after he finished his nap, or continue to celebrate the launch of his new bestselling single!

As requested, a picture of Velvet practising her pouncing. She’s very good at pouncing but I’m trying to encourage her tendencies towards being the worst hunter ever for the sake of nearby mice and birds. She’s very good at pouncing but often gets distracted while she’s stalking or pauses to inform the toy in a very loud meow that she’s on her way.

@CeciledeVolangesdeNouveau I certainly was talking about Velvet! Although it could equally apply to any of the cornucopia of catistocracy gracing this thread.

@SequentialAnalyst - former cat slave of long-standing. All so different but all adorable and or hilarious. A successor of moggies and a 2 years old retired breeding Birman. The Birman hadn’t got the memo about the famed agility of cats and combined the beauty of Aphrodite herself with the grace of Les Dawson.

(we kept the name she was given by her breeder as she was 2 when we got her even though I don’t think she looked like a Tiffany)

Only old knackered boxes go to box heaven in this house. Leroy has six, 3 small and 3 large. It's got to the point where he's allowed to swap an old box for a new box, but not allowed more boxes. Some have to be smuggled out.

He is not spoilt. Nope. 😂

Still alive thanks - left the house and four VERY bad tempered, hungry, cats at 5.30 this morning leaving Mrs Grumpy to manage them when she got up 🙀.
Apparently Sybil did not behave at the vet - but they managed to get bloods eventually (after wrapping her up in a bag).
Now to wait for results.

OMG Grumpy - they had to wrap Sybil in a bag? I can't imagine.
