Our cat won't come in the house

We have two brothers, 12 years old, both tabby and white. We have had problems getting rid of fleas over the past month and the cat in question gets very bothered by them. There is also a cat in the neighbourhood who has been through their flap to eat their food and can display aggressive behaviour. The cat we are concerned about just sits in the front garden and will only come in to eat. If we bring him in, he will literally kangaroo hop back out again. He is also very vocal and makes very urgent cries that go on for ages. He looks in good health, shiny coat etc.Our vet has been hopeless and we're going to register for a new one this week and get some prescription flea treatment. Just wondering if anyone on here's cat has displayed similar behaviour.

Use flea tablets rolled up in wafer thin ham. It's thin so it wraps around it well. You'll need to hoover very thoroughly and spray indesit around their baskets, and skirtings. Wash their bedding too. That should get rid of fleas but repeat after 12 days as new lavas can hatch about then. Wash outside of your cat flap so the scent of the other cat is gone. Shoo it away when you see it in your garden. I'd shut your cat that is reluctant to be inside for a week or so in a room it can't escape from with a litter tray.

You need to stop the other cat from getting into your house - a microchip catflap should do the trick.
