Said goodbye to our precious girl

We had to say goodbye to our precious girl today. She had been struggling for a while with suspected intestinal lymphoma that was not responding to any treatment. She was at home, on my lap so I really hope it was peaceful for her.
I'm not sure why I'm posting this. I guess I just need some reassurance that we did the right thing and that, one day, we won't feel so heartbroken.

I'm sorry your girl has crossed the Bridge. You have done the right thing, yes. An intestinal lymphoma, nasty, but you have spared her the pain of it getting worse, when it would have been painful. She went in your arms, with love and that's the best thing.

Run free little one. And healing Mews for you.

Very sorry. I lost mine a few weeks ago, I suspect to the same thing. It's just awful. Be kind to your self.

Thank you both. Woke up this morning to the first full day without her in the house 😥, but I do feel more sure we did the right thing.
I'm really sorry for you loss @Toddlerteaplease - sending hugs.

The silence is deafening isn't it.

A peaceful end with someone she loves has to be the right way to go.

Im so sorry about your darling girl but glad she was able to go peacefully without fear in her own home and on your lap.
Its hard though to say goodbye to a much loved friend 😿

DinkyShuffler · 16/09/2023 14:27

@Toddlerteaplease it is 😥. We still have her sister (which is a massive comfort) but the house feels so empty with just the three of us in it. Take care of yourself x

Sending hugs, it's so hard but you sound like a lovely owner.

In saying this, I have been with cats that have been pts at home and (less ideally) in a vet clinic, but also with cats that have (unavoidably) died in distress. Given that they don't have a choice in their care or end of life, the former is so, so preferable.

Thank you for those words @BluebellsForest 💐Her and her sister did not have the greatest start in life and all we have ever wanted is for them to be happy and know that they are loved. I really hope we gave the best end that we could x
