Any vets around? What are my cat's chances?- big Metacam overdose

My cat managed to eat the food with our dog's 14kg metacam dose on it. I realised almost immediately what had happened, took her to the vet who tried unsuccessfully to induce vomiting. She's now been admitted 3 hours post ingestion to a vet hospital where they'll give her fluids, charcoal and check her bloods at intervals. Is she going to have acute kidney failure or will they have caught it early enough? I didn't think to ask these questions in the panic. I feel fucking awful. I took my eye off the ball.

No advice. But how is she doing?

If you do the fluids etc highly likely to be fine it happens more often than you think. Usually as people, forget, don't read the label etc. we had one cat have the entire 3ml bottle when it was only supposed to have 0.3mls. It was fine.

in a moment of brain fog I once took my cats gabapentin and gave him my beta blocker. He spent the day at the vet being monitored and was notably not at all chilled (he’s a grumpy bastard) and suffered no ill effects whatsoever.

Thanks all. She's fine (so far). Had fluids and activated charcoal, stayed in for 2 nights and is now back home. Thank god for insurance (even with a £160 + 20% excess 😫) I think if she was going to have ill effects she would by now. 2 blood tests have not indicated kidney issues.

P.s now has a very fetching shaved "turkey neck" area and 2 shaved legs so it looks like she's wearing ankle warmers....

Aww sounds like a close shave on both counts (sorry!) - just glad she’s doing ok op.
