It's a grass snake. Poor little thing Sad used to hate it when mine brought in anything, I keep the current cat indoors as he's really not very clever at all and can't cope outside unsupervised. Even supervised he fell in the pond. I really don't miss this bit even if he is constantly under my feet!

It's not an adder, it's a harmless grass snake; the yellow markings are a dead giveaway. It's beautiful!
