My cat pooping in my garden

I've got two boys, had them since January. They will be one in October.

One of them keeps crapping in my veg patch. If it was anywhere else in the garden I could deal with it. But nope, veg patch and greenhouse. He buries it so deep I can't always find it and that corner of my garden stinks!!

Any ideas how to stop this? Are those repellent powders actually safe?

Please help me out.

Do you have a litter tray? I bought a large dog kennel to put a litter tray in and previous cats always used it. Current cat won't, he prefers to use it to sleep in during the day and at night so won't pee or poo in the tray.

The back of my garden is fairly smelly at times but it's behind a huge hydrangea so at least I don't see it.

Yes we have a litter tray. They've not used it for months unfortunately. Apparently my vegetable patch is now his personal litter tray.

Give up and plant the veg elsewhere!

My DH digs a corner of the garden farthest away from house and mixes in a lot of sand. Both cats toilet there. DH digs it over every 2 weeks in summer adding in fresh sand and about once a month in winter again always adding a bag of fresh sand. It's a little mound now.

We got some plastic spikes on Amazon that work well to keep our DCat away from the veg patch.

Can you put chicken wire over it and just remove it when you're actually gardening?

Cats love sand. Build him a sand pit.

Yes next year I think this is the answer! Might just wildflower the whole patch, always end up with a hosepipe ban anyway.

This is interesting thank you, might give this a go.

It's too big unfortunately. Which I do understand is a fortunate problem to have!
