Advice on letting my kittie out at night

My little girl is almost 11 months old! She has been out now during the day since April and loves being outside. She is in at night from 9pm until morning, just in one room though as the 2 boys go outside.

She is getting to that age where I think she should be out all night, be able to be with us, and out if she wishes.

Our back is secure, hard to get to the road, she never goes there. She had met and had fights with resident cats, and also seen foxes.

Am I being a wuss, I love her so much already. All our boys, 4 of them in all, have been perfect out there. I think cause she small and a girl am worrying.

Any advice?

I'm always impressed on these threads by people whose cats come in when called at night. My last cat would come running at the sound of Dreamies being shaken, but my current one will only come in on her own terms. So when she's out, she's out until she wants to come back in. She'll come running to the sound of a food pouch being shaken if it's within about 15 mins of normal mealtime (and then she's like a bullet - zooms across the garden at the speed of light), but if it's not near mealtime, there's no fooling her.

Cats naturally like dawn and dusk, and they hunt at night. Seems cruel to me to keep them in if they'd rather be doing what comes naturally. And I say that as someone who was noisily gifted a mouse at 4am today...

Hah. I know what you mean, and I have had a long hard think about it again.

Considering where we live, our back being quite secure. She knows where the dogs and cats are. We don't want her locked in.

We are letting her out tonite.

Wish her luck! Am probably overthinking. All other cats been fine over 20 years soooo.

🤞😍🐈‍⬛
