What kind of kitten might this be ?

My lovely cat had a litter of kittens but one was always much bigger than the others and his fur is different , kinda fluffy ! I know cats can have multiple fathers to their litters so just out of curiosity wondering who’s the daddy of little mowi 😂 doesn’t make a difference as we are keeping him but he just seems so different to the others !

No idea I guess just cross breed. He is absolutely beautiful 😻.

Sparklysunshine · 26/07/2023 16:44

My cat is now neutered ,should’ve said that in my post !

Also no judgement for them sleeping on bubble wrap ,, I wasn’t about to package them up to sell them on eBay they just sleep on the weirdest of surfaces (bag for life is top tier apparently 😂)

I think I once read cats can get pregnant when they’re already pregnant - maybe he’s a bit ‘older’ than the others?

Quisquam · 26/07/2023 16:49

Is he a medium hair? My black cat’s fur is longer than her short haired brother; but not so long as to call her a long hair?

caringcarer · 26/07/2023 16:53

It looked looks like a lovely cross/moggy.

I may be making this up though as Wikipedia say superfetation doesn’t happen in cats!

Girliefriendlikespuppies · 26/07/2023 16:54

He's a moggy but he might have been conceived a week before the rest were!

Hellocatshome · 26/07/2023 16:56

A fluffy moggy.

Sparklysunshine · 26/07/2023 16:59

Yes I read about spaces between kittens being conceived too ! I think yes he must be a medium hair moggy then as his hair pretty thick and well , fluffy 😂 I was pretty tempted to call him meatloaf but I can’t bring myself to shout that into the darkness of an evening 😂

I’ve recently adopted a kitten with fur just like that, he’s all black. He’s like a tank made out of cotton wool.

Sparklysunshine · 26/07/2023 17:02

A tank of cotton wool ?? Yep sounds about right haha

Looks like it’s part Norwegian Forest Cat to me. I have had 2 and they are gorgeous. Fluffy, (especially in the winter), sweet and real characters! If it is, you’re lucky as I paid a fortune for mine!

Which is why its very unlikely to be one. People who pay a fortune for their Norwegian Forest Cats normally don't let them wander about impregnating random moggies.

hartof · 26/07/2023 17:19

He looks like my cat who is a giant! I've always wondered what he is but I do think he's just a giant moggy.

@Hellocatshome

My girls do go outside. Not everyone who has pedigrees keeps them inside.

Seasideanticscanleadtosandybuckets · 26/07/2023 17:23

Actually op I think that dkitten has my name on it.

Address to follow...

No it doesn't 😆

TomatoSandwiches · 26/07/2023 17:57

Could possibly be a ragdoll type mix, very cute little floofy though 😍

FrivolousTreeDuck · 26/07/2023 18:00

I would guess a blend - he doesn't leap out as a particular breed. Gorgeous kitty! Glad to hear mum is spayed now.

TheFireflies · 26/07/2023 18:04

I don’t think he looks like any particular breed, OP, but he’s gorgeous. Sometimes you just get monster cats. My moggy was one of two kittens in the litter. Mum and sister both tiny. My cat turned out to be an 8kg, tall and stocky beast. No idea how, just one of those things!

Sparklysunshine · 26/07/2023 19:53

Funny someone should mention Norwegian forest cats as that’s what breed the mums father was (so the grandad of kitten ) we have a British shorthair boy but he is neutered so not him ! So weird how one litter can all be so different !
