Seen on Facebook if anyone is in the area and can share or help. I saw the post on the Ollie and Friends Facebook page

I saw that too. Sadly I think the chances of her being found are minimal. Why on earth was she loose in a car!

Papergirl1968 · 01/07/2023 12:04

I don't know, @Toddlerteaplease 😪 we've taken our cat on holiday to Wales in the past though and he was loose in the car.

@Papergirl1968 that is incredibly dangerous - why on earth is she not secured in a carrier?!

I agree with @Toddlerteaplease that the chances of this cat being found alive are miniscule, sadly.

Papergirl1968 · 01/07/2023 12:21

I don't know. A lot of people on Facebook are saying she will just hide.
I can't drive at the moment due to health reasons but when I can I won't be taking the cats loose in the car again, having seen this.

I think I saw this post and they said she was in a carrier .. not sure how she got loose or what happened , poor thing
Maybe they lifted the lid to give her some water ?

littleripper · 01/07/2023 12:25

Why on earth would you ever take that risk? You love the cat so much you have to take it with you but not enough to keep in safe? And what if it had got out and got lost on holiday?

Oh dear :(

In hindsight, the cat would have been fine it's carrier without water for a few hours.

BoobyDazzler · 01/07/2023 12:26

I’m driving that way in a bit, I’ll report back if I see anything.

iamnottoofatiamjusttooshort · 01/07/2023 12:26

@cinnamonfrenchtoast I'm just guessing
could have been something else ?

Poor thing though

Toddlerteaplease · 01/07/2023 12:37

My parents have just travelled to their new town with their cat. He had some gabapentin to ensure he stayed calm and did not come out of his carrier. Nor was he left alone in the car at all.

Toddlerteaplease · 01/07/2023 12:38

Travelling with a cat loose is illegal and incredibly dangerous.

Coffeeandcards · 01/07/2023 12:38

Madness to have animals unsecured in cars like that.

Coffeeandcards · 01/07/2023 12:38

Sorry- i should also have said that I do hope the cat is found soon and safely. Apologies.

Papergirl1968 · 01/07/2023 13:04

He got out once @littleripper and wandered around the close we were staying in before strolling back in through the front door of the house we were renting. He is a very securely attached, confident cat who was happy sitting on the balcony with me overlooking the sea. I hear what you're saying though. Wouldn't do it again now he's been joined by another more nervous cat and a dog.

And I realise we were lucky. Lessons definitely learned.
Anyway, it's not about me but about this poor missing kitty.

Oh that poor cat. Always use a carrier.

Pudmyboy · 02/07/2023 17:35

Crikey, I am sure the people who have lost their cat are distraught and giving them a good kicking won't help recover the poor cat! Be great if everyone was perfect! There is nothing on the OP to indicate the cat was loose, yet so many people prepared to rip into them!

bonfirebash · 02/07/2023 21:00

I shared it. She wasn't loose, they broke down and took the carrier out the car with themselves to keep safe and the carrier door broke
She's a house cat and ran off scared by the noise

They have a lot of traps but need wildlife carriers (and not a kicking, I've seen so many lost cat posts where carriers have broken)

Papergirl1968 · 13/07/2023 17:16

Found, thank goodness!

OP posts:
FormerlyPathologicallyHappy · 13/07/2023 17:31

Oh thank god.

42isthemeaning · 13/07/2023 17:45

That's brilliant news!

Iamacatslave · 13/07/2023 17:46

Wonderful news.

Ibizafun · 13/07/2023 17:49

Thank goodness!

Toddlerteaplease · 13/07/2023 17:50

Wow. I really thought they had no hope. How on earth did they find her?

bonfirebash · 13/07/2023 18:48

She was trapped
