Hi there,
My 8-month-old Maine Coon kitten Ollie had surgery last month to correct bilateral ectopic ureters.
He had his kidney function tested at the time of surgery on the 8th of June and then again this Wednesday at his post op scan.
The vet hospital phoned to say that it could be kidney disease and he needs further blood testing in 3 weeks.
If the levels go up or stay the same, itsnindicitive of kidney disease and he needs more extensive testing at £1000.
We are currently £9500 down as insurance hasn't covered any of this.
So my question would be, looking at these levels does anyone have any insight as to how worried i should be?
He also has small bladder stones.
Also any recommendations re diet. The vet said he would possibly need a renal diet or a urinary diet depending on the tests on 3 weeks.
Urinary diet if kidneys are okay and renal diet if not.
We are devastated because we thought after the surgery he would be okay. He's just a baby.
