My cat seems to wag her tail when she's happy

I'd love to know if I'm reading my cat right.

I know a wagging or swishing tail in a cat is a sign of stress or agitation. But my cat seems to swish her tail when she's happy (laying in the sun, cuddling next to me in bed).

Is she secretly agitated? Or is she just like a dog?

I love it when cats do that head wiggling move when something has caught their attention

I love having a defective cat!

He does the “puff up the tail and quiver” thing when he’s happy about something.

His tail is almost like a separate living being. It is constantly on the move. Even when he’s snoozing, the tip of it is very gently moving up and down.

He loves having his belly stroked/tickled. He literally throws himself upside down in front of me.

He does sometimes think he’s a dog - he will often growl if he hears someone coming up the front path (gravel).

Our cat sits underneath the hedge between our’s and our neighbours garden. All we can see is her tail wagging back and forth. She’s hunting, and presumably really content, or maybe it’s a sign of impatience.

When she welcomes us home she winds her way around our legs, waving her tail.
