FIP in my little cat. I am devastated

Just need a hand hold as there is only me at home and I've just talked to the vet.
They are 90% sure he has FIP, he's very poorly and I can't stop crying.
This is him in happier days I just want the world to stop.

Is it cruel to have him home for a few days before the final journey?

We lost our little cat to suspected FIP a month ago.

She went from showing severe symptoms to passing away in less than 12 hours 😞

I am so sorry. Do whatever you feel is the right thing. My little one fell asleep in my arms and I feel that was right for us 💐

There is treatment now … although expensive!

Toddlerteaplease · 15/06/2023 16:22

So sorry. But if he's suffering Ad in pain, it would be cruel to have him home. It would be for your benefit, not his. It's the most loving thing we can do for them. And awful as it is. It's our duty as their owners to prevent unnecessary distress.

How absolutely devastating… I’m so sorry. As pp’s have said, you need to do what feels right.

Ours just died in his sleep he was being treated at the vets came down in the morning and found him dead

MissCherryCakeyBun · 15/06/2023 17:20

@Mia184 I just don't think the insurance will cover £4-5,000 of treatment.
He is currently getting pain relief at the vets and is comfortable. I honestly wouldn't put him through pain I really really wouldn't. If he was able to be home and pain free I would do that but if not. I would of course do what's best for him.

Treatment isn't a guaranteed success either.

I'm so, so sorry, OP, what a beautiful boy 😔💔 xx

MissCherryCakeyBun · 15/06/2023 17:33

His brother is really pining for him. He's just laying next to the cool mat they normally share 😔😔😔

You will need to get his brother tested. We had to have our other cat tested but luckily he was fine.

MissCherryCakeyBun · 15/06/2023 19:10

@purser25 already in hand. Thanks tho
