We are collecting our two new babies next month and I am bursting with excitement at welcoming some new life into our lives. We lost both of our two elderly dogs last year and it has taken a great deal of time to even think about any more pets. We finally made the decision last week and have been lucky to find some beautiful kittens who will be ready to come and live with us in mid July. They are ragdoll litter mates both females. I grew up with persian cats which we had from kittens but as an adult we have been dog owners. We have started to prepare the house, buy beds and little cat trees, harnesses (we want them to be comfortable on them as they will primarily be house cats) and litter trays.

I would love any advice anyone may have for settling them in and making their first few days with us as comfortable as possible. It is just me and my partner at home with no grandkids on the horizon so a very calm household.

Also do any of you travel with cats? We had an idea we might like to holiday with them and were wondering if there is self catering accommodation that accept cats or would they travel in a motorhome?

If they hide. Let them come out in their own time. I wouldn't risk taking them on holiday. Find a lovely cattery. Or have a cat sitter. I believe Ragdolls are similar to Persians, and are not very dynamic. So will be fine to be left.
