Cat has tick, can't get it off, going on holiday tomorrow...

I'm so worried. My cat is ex feral.and will not be picked up or held. It is literally impossible and vets prescribe valium to get her to the vet.

I gave her Frontline Plus over 48 hours ago but she has got a tick on her neck which I can't be 100% sure she didn't have before the Frontline. It should have fallen off by now surely?

Going away tomorrow morning, literally won't be able to remove it with the tool thing, won't be able to get to the vet. The Frontline usually works well for her.

What might happen? She has a cat sitter coming to stay to watch her and her sister while we're away. I'm so worried, I hate leaving her anyway. Thanks for reading!

I hate to say it but you have to get her to the vet for removal. You can't leave her with a tick in her.

I would try and get an emergency vet appointment this afternoon, personally. Or failing that, try and get someone else to help catch her and wrap her in a towel while you quickly winkle out the tick. I don't think you can leave her like that.

Please don't leave her with a tick! Call the vet for advice.

We got it off and I don't think it was a tick! It took many Dreamies whilst parting fur. What a relief!
