Wee spraying out of enclosed litter tray

My rescue cat has an enclosed lid litter tray with a flap. Unfortunately for me she wees up against the flap and it sprays out all over the lounge.
Has anyone got any advice how to stop this? I removed the flap but that made it worse.

One of mine does this from time to time. I find distributing the litter differently in the tray helps - creating a dip further into the tray makes her go into it slightly more, ensuring the lid flap closes.

But occasionally she does still get it wrong and dip her bottom out the tray. The tray is on a large washable mat now...

You can't really stop it I don't think - just put a washable mat or puppy pads under the tray and change them regularly.

I've just tried moving the litter creating a dip. She just moved it back and weed everywhere! Nightmare. It's sprays quite far.

Get a large plastic storage box instead of a tray, the sides need to be high in order to prevent pee going over the edge. You may need to find something to make a step if your cat cat figure out how to get in and out to begin with.

I got a cat litter tray from amazon where they enter from the top. Game changer x
