Lump at back of kitten's neck

I have just got a kitten, who was 11 weeks old yesterday. I've had her since last Tuesday. She had her first injection on 15 May at 8 weeks old and is due a follow up injection next week. I noticed a lump at the back of her neck on Sunday which I presume is to do with a reaction to her injection. She's fine in every other way. I don't know how long it has been there, if it was a delayed reaction to her injection or if it appeared immediately afterwards but I might have expected it to go down before now?

Could it be her microchip?

She's not chipped yet. It is definitely to do with the injection, I am sure of it. I wondered if other cat owners have had it.

My cat had this as a kitten after his injections, it resolved itself after a while (can't remember how long)

@JoanThursday1972 Then it is highly likely to just be a localised reaction at the injection site.

Congratulations on your new kitten!

Thank you! Her name is Lily 😻

My cat had this after his first jab. I didn't let him have any others after reading some things about it (vaccine induced sarcomas in particular). It took months to go.
He's nearly 6 now.

I hope he is OK now. 😺

Lily is due her second jab, so I might suggest they put it in her leg rather than the back of her neck. The lump has only just gone. It was like a baked bean size, and she is a very tiny girl so it seemed bigger.

The bigger question is do we vaccinate house cats?
