Do your cats have their own theme tunes?

I always hear my cats’ theme tunes when I see them doing certain things.

My black girl is, well, tubby, but loves to run back and forth across the garden and her theme tune is Galloping Home from Black Beauty

My Bengal has real “big cat” traits and when she is lying in the sun surveying all her territory I often hear either the Out of Africa theme or Born Free

The ginger one is a bit sneaky and is often accompanied by Disney villain music; ditto the tabby so sometimes there are two Disneys going on at once

Do other people’s cats also have theme tunes?!

Ours do not have theme tunes but I am liking the idea.

We did have profiles for them. Our older dignified male would like a pipe by the fire and a nice merlot. Our ditzy longhair was definitely partial to a babycham and our current Naughty Tortie (who is a total thug) definitely has a fag hanging out her mouth at all times and most likely has a side hustle in recreational drugs supply.

My elderly Norwegian forest cat is a bit doddery these days to say the least. When I see her ambling up the garden I hear the theme to 'Last of the Summer wine' in my head

the other cat doesn’t have one. He’s not that kind of cat.

We have a cat door bell sensor at the back door so we know when she wants to come in and we have it set to play the Pink Panther theme when she's there.
So hers is definitely that every time she comes in the door.

Our cat has a very plaintive meow when he feels his breakfast is late. (In fact when any meal might be due….)

So he gets a song to the tune of Matt Bianco ‘Yeah’ (80s band, maybe a bit obscure) ‘He says meow, that’s what he says, he says meow’

He never looks impressed by his song 🐈‍⬛

My two do but that's because they are called Ziggy Stardust and Jean Genie so we sing the songs to them often.

Ozzy has Wuthering Heights by Kate Bush when he’s on the windowsill waiting to get it.

Oh dear, mine are a bit vanilla. I sing (vaguely to melody of "You are my sunshine") You are my 'bou, bou, my lovely bou bou, please don't take my luvverly, bou bou away'. Also versions of how he's the best cat in the world crowbarred into 'Hey, Big Spender' - this involves dance moves and lots of shimmying plus the occasional Peggy Lee looking back over the shoulder a la 'Lady and the Tramp'. Used to do anthems with BastardCat; MrCat would try adjusted lyrics to 'James - Sit Down' but he (cat) was pure Springsteen.

1st up Ivy - Simply the best. She's the oldest cat and thinks she rules the roost.

Betsy - Yes Sir I can boogie (specifically the opening bit) she's very fluffy, quite coquettish, I always imagine she would speak French if she could talk

Alfie - Ace of Spades always plays in my head when he goes into regular beast mode and flys around at the speed of light jumping on everyone and everything f with his ears black and all 30 claws out!

Betsy loves to sit in front of the fan and let it blow her fluff so I sing Beyoncé to her too "if you liked it then you should have put your fluff on it...."

Mine has the stars and stripes. We live in north west UK. Nothing about it makes any sense but it feels right so we go with it.

We have Millie the Moocher 😁. And at night I sing Lou Reed's Goodnight Ladies to both our girls.

Just seen I mis-typed! 20 claws lol not 30. He's not deformed or anything....

My cat's is Gangsta's Paradise 😂

We sing 'Lola sprout, she smells like trout' to our cat Lola. In reality she does not smell like trout and I'm not sure where her nickname Sprout originated but when we got her she was quite stinky as the home she came from wasn't great so the fact she smells has just stuck with her despite no longer smelling.

I'm sure she's plotting her revenge...

One of mine has the Jaws theme tune. When I'm lying in bed reading I can hear her approaching then I see the top of her tail gliding past the bed like a dorsal fin. Will have to think of some more now though.

I'm every woman (Chaka Khan). Her real name is Juno-Louise but I call her Chaka.

Not theme tunes but songs, yes. Boy cat "They call him Mr Top Basket" (Boombastic by Shaggy) and girl cat her name sung to the tune of the "pia-pia-piano" bit of I Am The Music Man. Various other songs too including the "Ian Wright Wright Wright" football chant but with the cats' nicknames.
