New litter of kittens. Looking for some wisdom!

Hi all, we have an 8 day old litter; all appear to be thriving. I'm completely out of my depth as have never had kittens before so I'm after a bit of advice. Mumma cat hunkered down and gave birth in a slightly battered cardboard box, despite the birthing pens we bought her. They all seem very settled and comfortable so I don't really want to disturb them but I'm thinking forward to making a more permanent bed for them. At what age, generally, is it safe and comfortable to relocate? It will still be in the same room with Mumma but I don't want distress any of them by doing it too soon x

Hi All, it's been quite some time but just thought I'd post a gratuitous photo of my girls! I feel like you guys have been there from the beginning so an update is required. They are absolute shitbags and bloody gorgeous!

They are gorgeous and have no idea what you mean by maligning them. You have only to look at those little faces to realise they are just trying to teach you how to be a proper cat servant.

Thay are absolutely gorgeous 😻

The sleepy tabby looks like she's angelic - the tortie looks like an absolute minx! I'm sure they keep you on your toes.

You are absolutely correct! These pictures sum them up perfectly. One is an absolute Angel and the other always looks like she's plotting a particularly gruesome death...probably mine 🤣

Oh they are gorgeous!
Are they leaving Mum alone? She should've sat on them when they were pestering her (it's how cats teach kittens to behave)

Pudmyboy · 25/08/2023 22:13

BTW do they have names you would like to share?

I've been on your other thread and I didn't like to say if you kept that tortoisehell then lock away your sharps ...... Grin
But you've found that out yourself !

Our tortie tripped me on the stairs when I was very pg with my DS . I stood on her tail . Basket of washing went up . I went down the stairs the quick way . Cat buggered off through the cat door
I thought about that scene in The Omen with the tricycle .
DS is 23yo now so apart from my bruised hip , we were unscathed .

I've noticed that she has literally started to do this in the last couple of days! Not so much when they're trying to feed, more so when they're having zoonoses and all playing.

Mum is called Kiki and the the kittens are Kiwi and Pedro...named by the children!
