Even before we had dcat, I was really intrigued by Venus the two faced cat, so I follow theor account on Instagram.

Their Instagram account is venustwofacecat, and the owner has several other pets too.

I can't believe he was a stray, he's so beautiful.

Sometimes I spend a stupid amount of time watching cat videos that appear on my FB feed.

Yes! I love the account aymieandfamily on Instagram - the cats ‘talk’ with various family members doing the voices. Adorable!

My fav thing about instagram is the random cat videos the algorithm shows me 🐈‍⬛ you're not alone!

ColonelNobbyNobbs · 17/04/2023 00:10

Agree Spirini I spend a whole lot of hours looking at those too. I especially like ones of grumpy old cats making friends with kittens ❤️

Teddieandcasper on Instagram.
They're adorable

I don't even particularly like cats but I can't scroll by when I see a 'kitten/three legged/blind/elderly cat dumped in bin' video pops up on TikTok.

I do, but I'm cautious about what I give views to. Cat content is so popular on the internet, it definitely contributes to people potentially exploiting and abusing cats.

For example, I really hate viewing 'cute kittens' posts because of the overpopulation of cats. People will do ridiculous things for SM likes, breeding litters of kittens just to post pics and videos and then dump them is one of them.

People taking their cats into situations they shouldn't be in, just for SM likes, when the cats are probably terrified and traumatised. There's one doing the rounds at the moment - "young man couldn't get a date for prom so he took his cat". Not cute, pretty cruel if you ask me.

Also, people seem to love those extremely short legged 'dwarf' kittens and cats, I think they're a deformity, so I hate seeing videos of them.

Grumpy old lady opinion, but I think what you consume on SM feeds a market for it, just something to consider.

I love CatsofYore on Twitter (and maybe Instagram too) - she collects historical photos of cats and also posts photos of her own beautiful rescue cats, and of other rescue cats which need a home.

IbizaToTheNorfolkBroads · 17/04/2023 03:48

I follow Felix the Huddersfield Station Cat on FB.

Glad it's not just me. 😁

@sausage767 I've become wary of those types of videos and ones of staged rescue situations. I don't like cats being out in fancy dress either, that's just tacky.
