How to stop the cat sitting on the laptop?

Just that really, she has just landed on it yet again and turned the display off. Cue frantic googling on my phone to remember how to turn it back on (she has done it before). She has also turned off the mouse and the wifi link today.
So has anyone got any good suggestions? If I shut her out she only sits at the door and meows.

I think this may be your only option OP

They like sitting on paper so try that? Mine loves a cardboard box to sit in or some junk mail to perch on

Agree with previous poster.... just going to have to buy another laptop 😆

Confuse them by putting a large pile of freshly washed and ironed clothes next to the laptop?

Mine does this! She sat on my keyboard just before I was due to play in a national online bridge tournament, and somehow disabled the internet connection. I didn’t have time to try and sort it, so had to play the whole tournament on the tiny screen on my phone.
Afterwards, I discovered she’d put the laptop in flight mode - something I hadn’t known it possessed, and I had to google how to get it back. The bloody cat is more tech savvy than I am! Grin

Loving the idea of trying her with her own laptop.
She already sits on the paper that's next to it on the desk and chews the corners of books.
And she may be the only cat in the world that isn't interested in boxes!
Have just fed her so she's off for a mooch round the garden while I get a bit of peace for ten minutes.
Anyone want a cat? Free to good home? (That is not a serious offer, I love her dearly.)

Sometimes it's because it's warm, maybe set up a heat pad?

SleepingisanArt · 13/04/2023 16:44

I saw a post on Facebook where the person had made their cat a cardboard laptop. Cat loves it! Cheaper than an actual laptop, unless you are like us and have several spares lying around!

My cat rang my mother yesterday by sitting on my phone 🙄
