Anyone else’s cats stopped eating Felix As Good As It Looks?

As both of mine have in the last week or so. I can’t see anything about a recipe change, so it’s a bit of a mystery. They’re really annoying as I feed them and they are still pestering to be fed! Any ideas?

Our cat stopped eating it and so we went over to Sheba which he has recently gone off too after being ill with a virus. He is now on Felix original in gravy which he is loving. He is not a fussy eater either, but really does not like food in jelly.

whataboutsecondbreakfast · 13/01/2023 07:07

It's all my three will eat. If I swap them to any other brand or type of Felix they all ignore it or throw it up 🤷🏻‍♀️

They're 7, 6 and 2 and no issues with any of them.

Mine (both 10 years old) used to love it, had it all their lives but only one pouch a day each alongside high meat / no grain dry food. They also wouldn't eat the Russian labelled ones a few years ago. Then around the time of all the publicity a few years ago they started fussing over it. We tried lots of others but they didn't really take to any of them any better so we tried AGAIL and they were happy with it. Then last Christmas (2021) one of them started seeming under the weather, a skin condition she'd had previously flared up badly and she was suddenly like an old lady cat. We decided enough's enough after talking to the vet and switched them off it. The cat who was unwell is back to her old self (she needed steroids and ABs for her skin but finished them ages ago). Both have much thicker shinier coats now. Could be coincidence but we're not ever going back to Felix.

This is odd. My cat won't eat it either.

Allergictoironing · 13/01/2023 09:51

Mine used to like it, then went right off it - didn't even lick the jelly or gravy off (I tried both types)!

Put them on Sheba Fine Flakes & the occasional Sheba Terrine & they were much better. Now of course they have to be on Boycat's renal food, but when he passes I'll put Girlcat back on the Sheba. Their main nutrition was always their dry, wet was just for enjoyment.

This is really strange- in the last two days (opened new box) the two cats who were desperate for this twice a day have just stopped eating it. New recipe? Something different? Was giving them the kitten food. Whats a good alternative?

We tried everything with our cat , then she tried blink and have never looked back . Then we got a rescue cat at Xmas and she had Felix.. guess what out resident cat went to Felix.. but now both refuse Felix...so resident cat is back on blink and the new rescue is refusing everything we give her... Apart from kibble...She is not unwell ..

LilLilLi · 20/02/2023 22:08

Another one on the Facebook group and won’t touch Felix again.

I tried Blink after seeing this post and OMG 😳 Cat loves it and it’s by far better quality food!

😎glad to hear, we buy direct on a subscription as its a bit cheaper , flexible and you can custom buy flavours your cat likes ....

stayathomer · 27/02/2023 06:51

This is so odd as yes BOTH my cats are eating the bare minimum of it. I was gutted as for some reason (am guessing whatever this is!) the price stayed the same but whiskas 40 pouch has gone up from always being on offer at 15euro to 26euro. Dammit!

Update on my cat eating Mon petite..she was eating it ok, but her stomach problems persisted. She's had severe diarrhoea for absolutely ages, even the vets were scratching their heads after what seemed like weeks of various tests. So I decided to try her on Katkin. We're on our 3rd month, fine tuned her monthly order of food and she's turned into a food monster, eating everything she's given, licking her bowl clean. And finally her poos are firm... it's a miracle! Best decision I've ever made

Catalogues123 · 27/12/2023 09:30

I'm not sure if I should be relieved to see there are others facing the same problem.. but all 3 of my cats have stopped eating Felix wet food over the past 3 days.. they have been eating this for the past 2 years and never walked away.. All of a sudden, they are totally disinterested in all of the pouches that Iv been offering them.. the meat selection and the one with vegetables..
They don't seem to want any other brand too. Confused cat mom. 🤔

eyespartyparty · 27/12/2023 09:54

Mine also stopped, would barely even sniff it, it was literally an overnight thing!
I had loads stocked up as well so gave it all to the food bank who were happy to take it.

They now have Gourmet Gold and I've noticed they have much shinier coats so I'm actually happy we've switched.

SierraSapphire · 28/12/2023 06:14

I went through all sorts of posh food and one of my cats seemed to turn her nose up at everything and just eats the dry food. The other one has gone back to eating Felix again. Cats! 🤷‍♀️

What is going on with Felix7+ cat meat at first I noticed that the meat in the 12 pouch box was totally different to the meat in the 40 pouch box and that my cats wouldn't eat it. It looks disgusting and is pale and full of jelly . I contacted Purina and was told that the 12 pouch box was made in a different factory and couldn't guarantee that ingredients would be the same . I explained that the meat should be exactly the same as in the 40 pouch box , I was fobbed off with a £5 voucher . Contacted Trading Standards never heard from them but Purina are now using the same disgusting meat in the 40 pouch box. I'm furious they're obviously cutting costs ! I have 3 cats I'm stressed out trying to find a replacement that they will eat and was hoping that someone may have advice on this

Sheepinclothing · 13/05/2024 20:04

Mine too! He has eaten Felix for 18 years and suddenly gone of it. He is not on Sheba.
