How to improve my cats life - hidey cat bed?

I feel a bit sorry for my mog. He's 15. He's diabetic so injected insulin twice a day. He got a uti and urinated on the carpet upstairs several times so is currently downstairs only. He also by coincidence got fleas, so I've had to spray all the furniture he usually sits on. The combination of areas temporarily off limits means he feels like he's got nowhere to go. He wants somewhere quiet to sleep but the kids are home so the living room and kitchen are busy. He's sat on me now but I need to get up. Don't know what I'm after, the ultimate hidey cat bed?! He usually shuns actual cat beds. He's currently shunning the padded box I set up for him. Any suggestions?

I bought the Bengal a covered soft dog bed which he loved. I’d drape a fleece over the entrance in cold weather and you’d just see a back paw sticking out.

Mine won't go near "proper" cat beds (literally won't go near, act like they are deadly traps) but both love a decent igloo bed. The favorite one is up quite high, on top of a box that sits on a chest so about 3.5 - 4 feet off the ground, and quite large. They don't really like the VERY big one, and after an initial sniff at it wouldn't use the little one so that's gone to a local rescue along with the very nice and expensive cat bed I bought for them.
Boycat also used to be quite fond of one of the rooms on the cat tree - pic below of him thinking he's hidden in there before he got ill and was still 6kg

I've never tried a cat tree. Might be worth considering. I've created him somewhere acceptable for now!

One of mine likes sleeping in a cardboard box with taller sides, like a wine box or a box that holds printer paper. He likes the tight fit and the higher sides mean that he's hidden from sight. It's a cheap alternative to a cat bed.

Drape a blanket over that table, and you'll have made him a palace!

The other thing my cat loves is... a primark bag. He loves them so much.
